ESCAPE ARTIST (CBS, New!) - Rina Mimoun and Scott Foley are developing a potential drama at the Eye about "a brother and sister who help people disappear." The pair will co-write the script for Warner Bros. Television and executive produce. No other specifics were given. LADYFRIENDS (NBC, New!) - Kari Lizer is back in business with the Peacock, booking a put pilot order for a new multi-camera comedy about two longtime female friends who are living very different lives - one has a loving husband and family, the other not so much - but couldn't live without each other. Warner Bros Television, where Lizer's overall deal is based, will write and executive produce. This past development cycle Lizer was behind the Sarah Paulson-led comedy pilot "Help Wanted," which didn't move forward to series. (Deadline.com)

MARBURY VS. MADISON/PERMANENTLY TEMPORARY (HBO, New!) - "Flight of the Conchords" co-creator James Bobin has booked a pair of comedies at the pay channel as part of a first-look deal with the network. "Marbury vs. Madison," written by Bobin, is set in the world of academic rivalry while "Permanently Temporary," from Bobin's sister, actress Joanna Bobin, is billed as "a female inter-generational comedy." Bobin then will executive produce each half-hour via his The Honourable Company of Gentleman Film-Makers banner. Said company recently tapped Paul Roemen as VP of development. (Deadline.com)

MY BEST FRIEND IS A LESBO (NBC, New!) - Sascha Rothchild and Randi Barnes have booked a semi-autobiographical comedy at the Peacock about "two best female friends - one straight, the other gay - who become roommates and help each other navigate life, love, and dating in Los Angeles." Fake Empire's Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Len Goldstein will executive produce the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour with Rothchild and Barnes serving as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)

ONE FIFTH AVENUE (ABC, New!) - Candace Bushnell is looking to bring her book of the same name, about "a columnist who begins investigating the scandal that erupts among residents in her building after she moves back to her old apartment following a breakup," to the small screen. Josh Safran ("Gossip Girl") will pen the adaptation and executive produce alongside Bushnell and Mark Gordon for ABC Studios and The Mark Gordon Co. (Variety.com)

SCENT OF THE MISSING (TNT) - The drama, about a search-and-rescue officer who braves the harshest conditions with her best friend and partner, a labrador retriever, has been ordered to pilot by the cable channel. Barry Josephson and Carol Mendelsohn are executive producing the CBS Television Studios-based hour, which Mendelsohn co-wrote alongside Melissa Byer and Treena Hancock and is based on Susannah Charleson's book of the same name. Diane Nabatoff and Shelly Glasser also serve as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)

SECRET AMERICA (NBC, New!) - Peter Landesman has snagged a script order from the Peacock for "a spy drama set in a small town that appears to be middle America but actually harbors a community of intelligence operatives." UNTITLED DAVID HUBBARD PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Feature writer David Hubbard ("Noel") is developing a new drama at the Eye about "a decorated detective who has lost three partners in the line of duty and serves as the male figure in the lives of his fallen partners' families." Carol Mendelsohn is also on board to executive produce the hour for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED PETER MEHLMAN PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Peter Mehlman ("Seinfeld") has landed a potential comedy at the network "inspired by the real-life capture of Whitey Bulger about a career criminal lives next door to a young married couple." 20th Century Fox Television and 3 Arts Entertainment are co-producing with Mehlman writing and serving as an executive producer.
