SNOOP DOGG RECORDS TITLE TRACK FOR DISCOVERY'S "WEED WARS"

Medicinal Cannabis Docu-Series Premieres Thursday, December 1 at 10PM E/P

(Silver Spring, MD.) - Iconic, award-winning artist Snoop Dogg has recorded the original title track for Discovery's WEED WARS, the network's new series looking at the world of medicinal cannabis. WEED WARS premieres Thursday, December 1 at 10PM E/P and will be simulcast on Discovery Channel and Discovery Fit & Health Channel.

From Entourage to One Life to Live to WWE RAW, Snoop is no stranger to television both in front of and behind the camera. Coming off his release of Doggumentary, the eponymously titled WEED WARS track is another hotspot in an already big year for Snoop. The coming months will see the release of a collaborative film project featuring Snoop and Wiz Khalifa entitled Mac and Devin Go To High School. Due in December, the duo will precede the movie with a soundtrack by the same name.

WEED WARS is a familiar story: a start-up business with demanding clients and the ever-looming possibility that it could all go belly up... But this is not exactly a typical business. When California voters passed the Compassionate Use Act in 1996, medicinal cannabis was legalized within the state igniting a national firestorm and providing an opening to a whole new kind of entrepreneur.

WEED WARS follows Oakland's Harborside Health Center, the nation's largest medicinal cannabis dispensary serving over 94,000 patients. The series introduces the Harborside staff as well as the growers and "patient farmers" whose job it is to provide the "medicine" - the buds - that will be eventually purchased and used by thousands of clients, many of whom feel their lives have been forever changed by the plant. WEED WARS is produced for Discovery Channel by Braverman Productions. Chuck Braverman is executive producer. For Discovery Channel, Cameo Wallace is executive producer. Snoop Dogg appears courtesy of Doggy Style Records.
