LEGENDARY COMEDIANS SIT DOWN WITH SHOWTIME(R)

New Interview Series "INSIDE COMEDY" To Premiere Thursday, January 26th at 11 PM ET/PT

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 17, 2011) - INSIDE COMEDY, the new comedy documentary series from comedy forces comedian David Steinberg ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") and Steve Carell will premiere on Thursday, January 26th at 11 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. The ten, half-hour episodes feature Steinberg interviewing some of the world's biggest comedians such as Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres and Jerry Seinfeld, to comedians of the past five decades such as Mel Brooks, Don Rickles and Jonathan Winters, as they share career-defining moments, personal struggles and the idols that inspired them, in an uncensored and hilarious one-on-one format. Carell and Steinberg will serve as executive producers alongside Vance DeGeneres and Charlie Hartsock for Carousel Productions, and Alan Zweibel serving as creative consultant. Steinberg will also direct all ten episodes.

INSIDE COMEDY commemorates the inspirations and influences of comedians over the last few decades by capturing never-before-heard anecdotes and intimate memories from pioneers Mel Brooks, Tim Conway, Carl Reiner, Don Rickles and Jonathan Winters; to Billy Crystal, Garry Shandling, Martin Short, Robin Williams and Steven Wright; to Larry David, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld; to Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Garrett, Kathy Griffin, Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman and Carell.
