SYFY SATURDAY ORIGINAL MOVIE "JERSEY SHORE SHARK ATTACK" WILL FEATURE ALL-STAR CAST

PAUL SORVINO, TONY SIRICO, JOEY FATONE, JACK SCALIA, WILLIAM ATHERTON - AND JERSEY SHORE'S VINNY GAUDAGNINO

MOVIE TO PREMIERE ON SYFY IN JUNE 2012

NEW YORK - December 6, 2011 - Since launching the franchise in 2002 more than 200 movies ago, Syfy Saturday Original Movies have pushed the boundaries of imagination with wacky and fun combinations of creatures and disasters. But none quite like - Guidos versus Sharks!

Next summer, Syfy will make Americans think twice about swimming in the ocean when it unleashes the Saturday Original Movie Jersey Shore Shark Attack, starring an all-star cast led by Tony Sirico (The Sopranos), Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Jack Scalia (Dallas), Joey Fatone ('N Sync), William Atherton (Die Hard) -- and Jersey Shore's Vinny Guadagnino.

Sirico is Captain Sallie, the wise veteran of boardwalk life and lore. Scalia is Moretti, former Guido beach bum and now police chief. Sorvino portrays the possibly corrupt Mayor and Atherton is the greedy developer Dolan, who wants to tear down the boardwalk to build a luxury resort where the Guidos will not be welcome. Vinny Guadagnino plays the on-scene reporter Conte and Joey Fatone appears as himself.

The movie also stars Jeremy Luke as The Complication, Melissa Molinaro as Nooki, Joey Russo as Donnie, Daniel Booko as Balzac, Audi Resendez as B.J., and Alex Mauriello as J-Moni.

Jersey Shore Shark Attack unfolds during the July Fourth weekend at - where else? -- the Jersey Shore, where rare swarms of sharks are converging due to illegal underwater drilling. Now the angry sharks are on a rampage, devouring residents, and leaving it up to the locals to try and save the day.

Jersey Shore Shark Attack is a production of Hybrid Entertainment. The director is John Shepphird (Chupacabra Terror). Jeffrey Schenck (Malibu Shark Attack), Barry Barnholtz and Peter Sullivan are the producers.

Syfy is a media destination for imagination-based entertainment. With year round acclaimed original series, events, blockbuster movies, classic science fiction and fantasy programming, a dynamic Web site (www.Syfy.com), and a portfolio of adjacent business (Syfy Ventures), Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Originally launched in 1992 as SCI FI Channel, and currently in more than 98 million homes, Syfy is a network of NBCUniversal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. (Syfy. Imagine greater.)
