"DANCING WITH THE STARS'" BROOKE BURKE-CHARVET TO CO-HOST "THE 2012 MISS AMERICA PAGEANT" ON ABC

Event to Be Broadcast Live from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas

The Miss America Organization and ABC announced today that Brooke Burke-Charvet will join Chris Harrison as co-host of "The 2012 Miss America Pageant" which will be telecast live from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, 2012 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. Burke-Charvet was co-host of ABC's live telecast of the 2011 Miss America Pageant with Harrison. The 2011 pageant drew ABC's biggest non-sports audience in the timeslot since April 2009, reaching 14.6 million viewers nationwide.

Burke-Charvet is a successful host, actress and entrepreneur. She returns for a fifth season as co-host of ABC's hit competition show, "Dancing with the Stars," in March, having earned the coveted mirror ball trophy as Season Seven's champion with her professional dance partner, Derek Hough.

In January she will release two new fitness DVD's, "Transform Your Body with Brooke Burke: Strengthen & Condition" and "Tone & Tighten," and her first book, The Naked Mom, will be released in paperback in February. With close to 2 million Twitter followers, Burke-Charvet has made a name for herself as a trusted resource in the world of motherhood and the social media network, motivating her to co-create the website ModernMom.com, an online community for "the woman behind the mom." As a pro blogger, she offers an in-depth look into her personal life on the site, building upon her own powerful "Mommy" brand. As a successful entrepreneur, she created the online store BabooshBaby.com in 2007, featuring her popular post-pregnancy belly wraps, Tauts.

Burke-Charvet was raised in Tucson, Arizona and currently lives in California with her four children and husband, David Charvet. This is her second time co-hosting the Miss America Pageant.

The President of the Miss America Organization, Art McMaster, said: "We are thrilled to be working with Brooke for the 2012 Miss America Pageant, and we look forward to her joining us for this year's incredible show back on ABC. We welcome Brooke back into our Miss America family, and we know she will be a wonderful co-host with Chris Harrison for this incredible television event."
