The Walk of SHAMELESS Competition Will Award The Winning Team $50,000!

SHOWTIME Will Donate $1 For Every Minute Walked

NEW YORK, NY - (December 21, 2011) - In support of its returning hit drama series SHAMELESS, SHOWTIME will launch a 5-day endurance competition where the winning team will win $50,000. Six competing teams of three will take turns walking continuously on a treadmill for 12 straight hours over the course of five days in New York City from January 18 to 22. SHOWTIME will donate one dollar per minute to the charity of each team's choice for every minute the participating teams walk during the Walk of SHAMELESS. The winning team will receive an additional $10,000 for their charity.

Throughout the competition, each team will be given fun challenges based on their knowledge of SHAMELESS. As an extra incentive, SHOWTIME will also provide one hotel room per team for the duration of the competition, in addition to catered meals during competition hours. SHAMELESS premieres on Sunday, January 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, as part of the SHOWTIME Free Preview Weekend, when the network will be available for free to non-subscribers in 60 million households. Season two finds our favorite dysfunctional family braving the heat and humidity of summertime in Chicago, trying to keep cool... and Frank (William H. Macy) out of trouble. Bearing the de facto parent badge/burden, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) spends her nights working at a happening nightclub and her days keeping an eye on Debbie (Emma Kenney) and Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) as they run a makeshift daycare center at the house. Meanwhile, brothers Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) are toying with the idea of college, while Sheila (Joan Cusack, in her Emmy(R) Award-nominated role) is still housing Frank and making progress with her agoraphobia. As usual, the motley brood somehow manages to hold down the fort and make sure the bills are paid, the lights are on and there is food on the table. The series also stars Justin Chatwin, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey and Laura Slade Wiggins. Based on the long-running hit UK series, SHAMELESS is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning television and film producer John Wells, as well as Paul Abbott and Andrew Stearn. Wells developed the series for American television.
