Syfy Ventures Launches New Social Game, Syfy Monster Island, Based on Popular Saturday Original Movies Franchise
The game, also available on Facebook, is billed as "an adventure-filled, modern-era RPG."

NEW YORK - March 1, 2012 - Syfy is extending its popular Saturday Original Movies franchise to the video game universe.

Expanding its slate of Syfy Games, Syfy Ventures has launched a new social game, Syfy Monster Island, based on some of the iconic monsters featured in its Saturday Original Movies, it was announced today by Alan Seiffert, Senior Vice President, Syfy Ventures.

Syfy Monster Island is an adventure-filled, modern-era RPG. In the game, fans travel to Monster Island to battle monsters from Syfy's popular Saturday Original Movies, such as Mega Python and Sharktopus, and famous monsters of myth. Players will capture these incredible creatures and keep them in their own Monster Sanctuary, where they can study and harvest the monsters. https://apps.facebook.com/syfymonsterisland/

Gamers also compete or collaborate with other monster hunters to explore various regions of the Island and embark on quests to discover the dark secrets of the monsters' origins. Along the way, players will develop powerful abilities as they acquire and craft a variety of high-tech weapons and munitions. Sneaky Games is the developer of Syfy Monster Island.

Seiffert further announced that Syfy Games has launched Stardrift Empires, a massively multiplayer strategy game with over 300,000 players to date. In Stardrift Empires, players explore the universe, colonize planets, build fleets of warships, form alliances and engage in interstellar warfare to create intergalactic empires.
