E! ENTERTAINMENT SPECIAL: DEMI LOVATO "GIVE YOUR HEART A BREAK" TO PREMIERE ON APRIL 2 EXCLUSIVELY ON E!
(Los Angeles, CA, March 29, 2012) - Former Disney star and talented singer Demi Lovato sat down exclusively with E!'s Giuliana Rancic to discuss her new music video, 'Give Your Heart A Break' for a 30-minute special that will air on April 2nd. With honesty and candor, the singer revealed her inspiration for the song and spoke openly with Giuliana about what she has learned in the past few years as well as her plans for the future. Along with the sit-down interview, the special includes the exclusive world premiere of the full-length music video. The E! Entertainment Special: Demi Lovato 'Give Your Heart A Break' premieres on April 2nd at 8:00 PM only on E!
"The song is about not wanting to break the other person's heart, and really letting them know that you're not in this to play games, or to hurt them. Just that you're there to love them," Lovato tells Giuliana. When asked about the "biggest challenge" of making the video, the singer replies, "I really think the most challenging part of shooting my music video was that I was actually on set for the first time and the director said, 'okay you and this guy, you're going to cuddle now.' And it was awkward. And [the guy] said 'yeah, by the way my name is Alex.' We totally had to look like a real couple....five minutes after meeting," She also talks about how she opted for a more natural look as opposed to red carpet glam. "I looked back and I thought 'oh my gosh! I barely wore any make up in that video!' But it was kind of liberating; it was really nice to just show people really what I look like."
In addition, Lovato offers some advice to her female fans, "I want to put it out there and show that women can be independent on their own and I think that's the best lesson that I've learned is to love myself before any other person."
Demi's " Give Your Heart A Break" video was directed by Justin Francis (Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, B.o.B), and the song is featured on her critically acclaimed CD Unbroken.
The Demi Lovato video premiere of "Give Your Heart A Break" further cements E! as the destination for A-list musicians and record labels. "Give Your Heart A Break" premieres on the heel of other successful debuts on the network for artists such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and LMFAO.
