NEW MUSIC FROM TONIGHT'S EPISODE OF NBC'S CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED MUSICAL DRAMA "SMASH" AVAILABLE TODAY ON ITUNES
"Smash" Airs Mondays on NBC (10-11 p.m. ET)
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - April 23, 2012 - Select songs from tonight's new episode of NBC's musical drama series "Smash" (Mondays, 10-11 p.m. ET), are now available from NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products and Columbia Records on the iTunes store at http://www.itunes.com/NBCSmash. The two songs available for tonight's episode of "Smash," entitled "Publicity," include:
"A Thousand and One Nights" - written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman; featuring Katharine McPhee and Raza Jaffrey.
"Secondhand White Baby Grand" - written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman; performed by Megan Hilty.
In tonight's episode, Karen (Katharine McPhee) finds herself seduced by the glamorous life of new BFF Rebecca Duvall (special guest star Uma Thurman) -- but can Rebecca be trusted? What will Karen's ascent mean to her relationship with Dev (Raza Jaffrey)? And will Rebecca drive Derek (Jack Davenport) insane? Eileen (Anjelica Huston) introduces new beau Nick (guest star Thorsten Kaye) to ex-husband Jerry (guest star Michael Cristofer), while Julia (Debra Messing) panics when her son Leo (Emory Cohen) goes missing. Megan Hilty and Christian Borle also star.
"Smash" is a musical drama that celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire - to be a "Smash." Evolving from an idea of executive producer and multiple Emmy and Oscar winner Steven Spielberg and created by executive producer/acclaimed playwright Theresa Rebeck, the series is also executive-produced by Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
"Smash" is a production of Universal Television in association with DreamWorks Television and Madwoman in the Attic.
