Los Angeles, CA, June 1, 2012 - Spike TV's talent roster for the sixth annual "Guys Choice" (#GuysChoice) is filled with megawatt smiles from the industry's biggest names. This one night only event has become the place for luminaries from all over the entertainment landscape to gather in order to honor the year's most "man-tastic" achievements. The 2012 "Guys Choice" Awards tapes tomorrow, Saturday, June 2 at the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA, and premieres next Saturday, June 9at 9:00 PM, ET/PT on Spike TV.
Spike TV announced today that Academy Award(R)-winning star Christian Bale and uber-talented director Christopher Nolan will be on hand to accept the "Most Manticipated" award for their upcoming blockbuster, "The Dark Knight Rises." The film marks the epic conclusion to Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy.
The network will also honor Emmy Award(R)-winning "Family Guy" creator, writer, director and voice-over actor Seth MacFarlane as this year's "Funniest M.F." "Funniest M.F." is one of the night's premiere honors. MacFarlane will be joining an elite group of comedy standouts, including previous winners Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, and Steve Carell.
In addition, Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand will receive the first-ever "Guysman Trophy" award - which will be presented by Ray Liotta. The "Guysman Trophy" award is new to this year's event. There has been no other story that has touched Spike guys more than the heroic journey of Eric LeGrand. Eric is the Rutgers football player who suffered a crippling spinal cord injury in a game that left him in a wheelchair and paralyzed from the neck down. Though his dream of playing in the NFL was cut short, his former coach, Greg Schiano recently signed Eric to a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Eric continues to go through physical therapy and defy doctors' expectations.
