"On Tap, Presented by VH1 Classic" - New Syndicated Nightly Radio Show - To Launch This Summer

Radio Vet Nik Carter to Host Nightly Show Featuring The Best in Classic Rock Music, Exclusive VH1 Classic Content, Artist Interviews, Performances and More

NEW YORK, Aug. 1, 2012 -- VH1 Classic announced today the launch of the new syndicated nightly radio show, "On Tap, Presented by VH1 Classic," hosted by rock radio veteran, Nik Carter. Beginning Monday, August 6th, "On Tap" will be available to stations weeknights from 7 PM - 12 AM ET, as well as other dayparts throughout the day, from VH1 Classic's studio-bar high above Times Square in New York City.

"On Tap, Presented by VH1 Classic" will be distributed by KMG Networks, the content syndication division of Krantz Media Group, with network ad sales being handled by AdLarge Media, headed by Gary Schonfeld and Cathy Csukas.

"On Tap, Presented by VH1 Classic" will breathe energy and life into the Classic Rock format by offering fans the best in PPM and diary-friendly Classic Rock music from the artists they love. The goal is that by elevating the quality of night programming, more listeners will still be around the next morning to optimize ratings performance for all stations.

In addition to a killer Classic Rock library, Carter will have unprecedented access to the abundant Viacom archive including thousands of artist interviews and recordings from quintessential music programming like "Storytellers" and "Unplugged." The show will also feature national promotions and giveaways, and visits from the biggest Classic Rock artists, including exclusive performances. The "On Tap" website and social network pages will highlight exclusive audio, photos, video and more!

"VH1 Classic viewers already love our dedication to Classic Rock and recognize our unequalled access and exclusive performances from the VH1 brand," said Tom Calderone, President, VH1 and VH1 Classic. "With 'On Tap,' we're leveraging that position and aiming to further tap into the passion for classic rock with a solid solution for Classic Rock and Heritage Rock formatted radio stations. The daily produced program will deliver expanded access to the music, artists, and bands that fans have grown up with - or are just now discovering."

Nik Carter, a true fan of classic rock, has worked at some of the top stations across the nation including WRXP New York, WXRK New York, WBCN Boston and nationally syndicated "High Voltage" and "In Concert." In addition to his radio experience Carter hosted numerous TV shows including "The City Show" and was a cast member on "Changing Places."

VH1 Classic brings you the best metal, rock, soul and pop from the '70s, '80s and '90s. The channel features the gods of rock - from Black Sabbath, Metallica and Iron Maiden to Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam and Dire Straits - in marquee concerts and music specials, and of course, tons of classic music videos. Recent big events include National Metal Day (11.11.11) and Metal Evolution, an 11-part documentary series on the history of metal. Because when it comes down to it - all music should go to 11.
