OPRAH WINFREY INTERVIEWS BESTSELLING AUTHOR DR. JILL BOLTE TAYLOR ABOUT HER "STROKE OF INSIGHT" ON "SUPER SOUL SUNDAY"

Interview airs August 12 at 11 a.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

"Oprah and Jill Bolte Taylor: A Stroke of Insight" will air on the Emmy(R) Award-winning "Super Soul Sunday" on Sunday, August 12 at 11 a.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and will simulcast online worldwide via Oprah.com and Facebook.com/OWNTV.

Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, a Harvard-trained neuroanatomist and author of the New York Times bestselling memoir "My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey," suffered a massive stroke in 1996. It was after her 8-year recovery that she catapulted into the public eye after her 2008 TED talk went viral. To date, it has garnered more than 11 million views on Ted.com and YouTube. As a result, Taylor was chosen as one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2008. In this interview, Taylor talks to Winfrey about how this life-changing event became her spiritual awakening.

Immediately following the interview will be two special episodes of "The Best of The Oprah Show;" including "The Power of Prayer" at 12 p.m. ET/PT and "Caroline Myss on Discovering Why We Are Here" at 1 p.m. ET/PT. Blending brand-new footage of Winfrey reflecting on these groundbreaking shows, with vintage clips, Winfrey gives never-before-seen insight and reflections on some of the most memorable moments.
