NEW YORK - August 30, 2012 - SHOWTIME will unveil the highly-anticipated second season premiere of its Golden Globe(R)-winning and Emmy(R) Award nominated hit series HOMELAND at an evening affair on the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City on Friday, September 7. The invitation-only premiere screening and reception, presented by Time Warner Cable, will roll out the red carpet for the show's star-studded cast, dignitaries and New York elite. This occasion marks the first entertainment event held in the new home to the historic Space Shuttle Enterprise. HOMELAND returns to SHOWTIME for its second season debut on Sunday, September 30th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
SHOWTIME and Time Warner Cable will offer a livestream of the event on September 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET/ 3:30 p.m. PT through NowLive - including live interviews with the cast and producers of HOMELAND and other special guests, a tour of the celebrated aircraft carrier, and exclusive clips from the show, as well as a sneak peek of the season premiere. HOMELAND was nominated for nine Emmy Awards, the most nominations of any freshman series this year, and the most nominations ever for a SHOWTIME series. The series stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Damian Lewis, Emmy and Tony(R) Award winner Mandy Patinkin, Morena Baccarin, Diego Klattenhoff, Jackson Pace, Morgan Saylor, Jamey Sheridan, David Marciano and Navid Negahban. Developed for American television by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa and based on the original Israeli series "Prisoners of War" by Gideon Raff, the one-hour drama series tells the story of Carrie Mathison (Danes), a CIA officer battling her own demons, who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of U.S. soldier Nicholas Brody (Lewis) was a setup and may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil. The series is produced by FOX 21.
