HBO DOCUMENTARY FILMS TO RELEASE OSCAR(R) WINNER ALEX GIBNEY'S "MEA MAXIMA CULPA: SILENCE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD" THEATRICALLY IN NOVEMBER; FILM DEBUTS ON HBO IN EARLY 2013

CONTENT MEDIA CORP. IS APPOINTED SALES REP FOR ALL WORLDWIDE RIGHTS AND WILL REPRESENT DVD AND DOWNLOAD-TO-OWN RIGHTS IN U.S.

NEW YORK, Sept. 5, 2012 - HBO Documentary Films' MEA MAXIMA CULPA: SILENCE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD, the latest project from Oscar(R) winner Alex Gibney ("Taxi to the Dark Side"), will debut on HBO in early 2013 following its November theatrical release. The feature-length documentary has its world premiere Sept. 9 at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. Content Media Corporation represents DVD and download-to-own rights in the U.S. along with all other worldwide rights, and will be selling the film in Toronto.

Directed, produced and written by Gibney, MEA MAXIMA CULPA: SILENCE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD exposes the abuse of power in the Catholic Church and a cover-up that winds its way from the row houses of Milwaukee through the bare ruined choirs of Ireland's churches all the way to the highest office of the Vatican.

At the heart of the film is a small group of heroes - four young deaf men - who made their voices "heard" by exposing the priest who had abused them and so many others. Their investigation helped uncover documents from the secret Vatican archives that exposed the Pope, who must operate within the mysterious rules of the Roman Curia, as both responsible and helpless in the face of evil.

"This is a very important story that needs to be told," says Gibney. "I am delighted to have produced the film with HBO Documentary Films and pleased that the world will be able to discover the film with Content's team on board to sell it."

Sheila Nevins is executive producer and Sara Bernstein is supervising producer for HBO Documentary Films; other executive producers are Lori Singer and Jessica Kingdon. The film is produced by Alex Gibney, Todd Wider, Jedd Wider, Alexandra Johnes and Kristen Vaurio through Jigsaw Productions, in association with Wider Film Projects. Chris Cooper, Ethan Hawke, Jamey Sheridan and John Slattery lend their voices to the film.

Content's offices will be based at the UK Film Center at the Toronto International Film Festival from Sept. 7 through 12.
