SNEAK PEEK OF NEW DRAMA "CALL THE MIDWIFE" EXCLUSIVELY ON PBS FACEBOOK PAGE

- UK's TV Choice Awards "Best New Drama" Winner Comes to PBS -

On Sunday, September 16, PBS will provide fans with a sneak peek of its highly anticipated new drama, "Call The Midwife," exclusively on the PBS Facebook page two weeks before it premieres nationally, Sunday, September 30 at 8/7c on PBS stations (check local listings). The hit British series was just named the "Best New Drama" at the TV Choice Awards in London.

The series preview introduces viewers to newly minted midwife Jenny Lee, played by newcomer Jessica Raine, as she and the seasoned Sister Evangelina, played by Pam Ferris ("Little Dorrit," "Darling Buds of May"), attend to a birth in London's East End in the spring of 1957. Jenny quickly learns that she must overcome the initial shock of a culture remarkably different from the wealthy English countryside where she was brought up and tend to her new community.

The PBS Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pbs), which has nearly 1.2 million fans, is an active forum for fan discussion and excitement leading up to the series premiere.
