LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has given newcomer "The Mindy Project" and returning comedy "Raising Hope" orders for two additional episodes while ABC has asked for two more scripts of its freshmen series "Last Resort" and "666 Park Avenue."
Co-star Lucas Neff broke the news about "Raising Hope" on Twitter while Deadline.com first reported the other developments.
"Mindy" received a full season pickup earlier this month, meaning the two new installments will bring its season total to 24 episodes. Said decision comes despite only three episodes of the Mindy Kaling-led comedy having aired thus far, with the next not slated until October 30. "Hope" likewise will produce 24 episodes this season.
As for "Last Resort" and "666 Park Avenue," the order for additional scripts will keep their respective scribes hard at work while a final call is made about their back-nine (or less) orders. Last week, ABC asked "The Neighbors" for three additional scripts.
