ENCORE will feature the six-time EMMY(R) and two-time Golden Globe(R) Award-winning miniseries, "Lonesome Dove," on Monday, November 19th - Thursday, November 22nd at 8pm ET/PT on ENCORE, as part of "The Big Miniseries Showcase." "The Big Miniseries Showcase" is a weekly programming destination of fan favorites and classic titles, premiering every Monday night on ENCORE.

The following week, ENCORE will present the EMMY(R) nominated sequel to the award-winning Western, "Return to Lonesome Dove," on Monday, November 26th - Thursday, November 29th at 8pm.

LONESOME DOVE (1988) Synopsis -

Premieres Mon. Nov.19 - *Thanksgiving* Thurs. Nov. 22 at 8pm (followed by a marathon on Sun. Nov. 25 beginning at 11:30am)

The four-part, epic western tale "Lonesome Dove" tells the story of a pair of old friends - former Texas Rangers and ranching partners - who decide to drive a cattle herd to Montana, facing bad weather, murderers, accidents and romantic peril along the way. Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones and Danny Glover lead an all-star cast in this grand adventure about a Montana cattle drive.

RETURN TO LONESOME DOVE (1993) Synopsis -

Premieres Mon. Nov. 26 - Thurs. Nov. 29 at 8pm (followed by a marathon on Sunday, Dec. 2, beginning at 10am)

Nominated for an EMMY(R) Award, the legend continues with the sequel to "Lonesome Dove." The new story begins where "Lonesome Dove" ended, with Captain Woodrow F. Call (played by Jon Voight) back in Texas, having fulfilled Gus McCrae's request to be buried there. Call's difficult return to Montana becomes a personal odyssey, when he finally reaches the Hat Creek Cattle Company, he is forced to confront his strained relationships. This critically acclaimed sequel stars Jon Voight, Louis Gossett Jr., Barbara Hershey and more.
