LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC is keeping its figurative seat warm on its new drama "Chicago Fire."
As first reported by Variety.com, the Peacock has asked the show's producers for five additional scripts.
The Dick Wolf-produced hour bounced back last night with a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49, up from last week's 1.5 and even with its lead-in, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
On Tuesday, the network gave a similar order to fellow newcomer "Guys With Kids."
Said commitments will keep their respective writers at work while a final decision is made about ordering additional installments beyond their initial 13-episode orders.
