ADAM BRODY TO GUEST STAR IN "HOUSE OF LIES"

Season Two Premieres Sunday, January 13th at 10:00 PM ET/PT On SHOWTIME(R)

LOS ANGELES, CA - (December 14, 2012) - Noted actor Adam Brody (The O.C.) will guest star in two episodes of the upcoming second season of the hit SHOWTIME comedy series, HOUSE OF LIES. Brody will play the owner of an adult toy company who forms a relationship with Jeannie (Kristen Bell). The series, which stars and is executive produced by Don Cheadle in his Emmy(R) Award-nominated role, returns on Sunday, January 13th at 10:00 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME. HOUSE OF LIES also stars Ben Schwartz, Josh Lawson, Dawn Olivieri, Donis Leonard Jr. and Glynn Turman. Brody joins previously announced guest stars Larenz Tate, Nia Long and Lisa Edelstein.

Brody memorably starred as Seth Cohen on the popular television series The O.C. and also had recurring roles on Once and Again and Gilmore Girls. He also had standout guest turns on Judging Amy, Family Law, and Smallville. On film this year, Brody has starred in Damsels in Distress, the long-awaited new movie from writer/director Whit Stillman, with Greta Gerwig, Analeigh Tipton, Caitlin Fitzgerald, and Megalyn Echikunwoke, and in The Oranges, directed by Julian Farino, with Hugh Laurie, Catherine Keener, Alia Shawkat, Leighton Meester, Oliver Platt, and Allison Janney; and he co-starred in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World with Steve Carrell and Kiera Knighley. Brody will also be seen as the lead of Some Girls, adapted by Neil LaBute from his play of the same name, which also stars Emily Watson, Zoe Kazan, Mia Maestro, Jennifer Morrison, and Kristen Bell; in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's Lovelace, portraying Harry Reems, with Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, and James Franco; and in Rob Meltzer's Welcome to the Jungle. Additionally, he will star in Double or Nothing, a short film penned by Neil LaBute, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Past film credits include In the Land of Women, Scream 4, Cop Out, The Romantics, Jennifer's Body, Death in Love, Smiley Face, The Ten, Thank You For Smoking, The Ring, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

HOUSE OF LIES is a timely comedy that dives head-first into the shark tank known as corporate America. Marty is the big-money earner at Galweather Stearn, who commands a hot, young team known as The Pod: Jeannie (Kristen Bell), Clyde (Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson). Marty and The Pod's work life revolves around first-class travel, top-shelf liquor and anything they can charge the client on a black Am Ex. Marty is the ultimate power player and under his direction, this ruthless, pull-no-punches team is here to beat the corporate suckers at their own game - and they're loving every minute of it. This season, The Pod - especially Marty and Jeannie - must deal with the fall-out from the big merger showdown. On the home front, Marty is thrown when Roscoe (Donis Leonard Jr.) decides to move in with his unbalanced mother, Monica (Dawn Olivieri). The series is based on the hit tell-all book from best-selling author Martin Kihn (House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time). Produced by SHOWTIME, HOUSE OF LIES is created and executive produced by Matthew Carnahan. Jessika Borsiczky, Stephen Hopkins and Don Cheadle also serve as executive producers.
