"HOTEL FIXER" ANTHONY MELCHIORRI TAKES ON "THE DIRTIEST HOTEL EVER!" ON SEASON THREE OF TRAVEL CHANNEL'S "HOTEL IMPOSSIBLE"

NEW SEASON PREMIERES ON MONDAY, AUGUST 12 AT 10:00 P.M. ET/PT

Network Greenlights Production of "HURRICANE SANDY" Special to Air in the Fall

CHEVY CHASE, MD (June 27, 2013) - It takes a big personality and a tough attitude to save a hotel on the brink of collapse. Host and "hotel fixer" Anthony Melchiorri is part psychologist, part motivational speaker and part businessman. In the third season of Travel Channel's critically acclaimed series "Hotel Impossible", Melchiorri tackles some of his most challenging hotel projects to date - including what he considers 'the dirtiest hotel he's ever seen!". The new season, featuring 13 half-hour episodes, premieres on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. In addition, Travel Channel has greenlit production on a special episode featuring the rebuilding of a devastated hotel in Seaside Heights, NJ post-Hurricane Sandy. After personally experiencing the aftermath of Sandy, Melchiorri (a Queens, NY resident) is especially determined to use his expertise and passion to restore this shoreline region again.

"From Greece to Costa Rica and many places in-between, this season the problems are bigger and the owners are even more desperate to save their hotels," says Anthony Melchiorri. "Although the hotel industry is starting to see an overall uptick in business that we haven't seen in years, many independent hotels continue to struggle with problems that can unquestionably be fixed like outdated policies, décor, poor management and family strife. The basic foundation of a good hotel starts here."

In season three, Melchiorri crisscrosses the globe, tackling different struggling hotels that are on the verge of closing. With his brutally honest approach, Melchiorri evaluates each hotel and identifies its most significant problems. He then makes critical changes that may include getting a stubborn owner with no business sense to listen, or getting a lazy staff to step it up. Melchiorri goes even further this season. There are more hidden cameras, gadgets and technology that test, evaluate and measure different aspects of the hotel - including "germ-o-meters" and black lights. It won't always be pretty and it will never be easy, but Melchiorri pushes these owners to get it right. For many, this is their last hope.

In the season's opening episode, Melchiorri travels to Baltimore's Abacrombie Inn - once an award-winning B & B whose business has drastically declined under its most recent owners. Melchiorri immediately discovers he has his work cut out for him - not only is this the dirtiest hotel he's ever seen, he also finds an empty crack vial littering the exterior! Inside, a thick layer of dust illuminates unsanitary housekeeping practices, a breakfast spread that quite literally is spoiled rotten and absentee owners who refuse to take accountability for their failures. In order to restore this hotel back its glory, Melchiorri first needs to organize a deep cleaning and renovate the old, dirty and uninspired rooms - which is the easy part. Getting the owners to adhere to a new management style, accept responsibility for their actions and institute an updated marketing and maintenance plan - all while maintaining his patience - therein lays Melchiorri's biggest challenge of all.

Additional locations featured this season include Baily's Harbor, WI; Delaware Water Gap, PA; Grass Valley, CA; Ocean City, MD; Olympus Riviera, Greece; Santa Cruz, Costa Rica; and more.
