E! SPECIAL "RYAN SEACREST WITH SELENA GOMEZ" PREMIERES SUNDAY, JULY 21 AT 10:00PM

Ryan Seacrest Talks Exclusively with Selena Gomez About Her Career in Music and Film, The Superstar's Upcoming Plans And Her Personal Life That Shaped Who She is Today

Los Angeles, CA - July 16, 2013 - On a beautiful Los Angeles afternoon, Ryan Seacrest and Selena Gomez spar over a game of ping pong and bean bag toss, as the two friends talk for an exclusive interview about her career-making start at Disney, her struggles as a young celebrity and her relationship with a pop megastar. The E! Special "Ryan Seacrest with Selena Gomez" premieres Sunday, July 21 at 10:00pm.

Selena Gomez started her career on the Disney Channel at the young age of 11 and quickly became one of Hollywood's most popular stars. With millions of fans following her music and films, this one-time teenage pop princess has officially taken the entertainment industry by storm. In the beginning of her career she learned that she had to grow up fast. From dealing with early rejection to finally landing the role of a lifetime at fifteen on "Wizards of Waverly Place," Gomez talks about the challenges growing up on camera and dealing with the rumors of cast drama behind-the-scenes. "We're kids, we're growing up, we're figuring everything out and yeah of course we had our moments."

Unlike some young starlets, Gomez surrounded herself with family and a solid team to maintain a grounded outlook on the business and avoid falling victim to the Hollywood temptations that plague other celebrities. Following her television success, Gomez set her sights on music and landed her first platinum selling single "Naturally" from her debut album. Gomez's latest chart topping hit went double-platinum with "Come &Get It" from her fourth studio album Stars Dance releasing July 23rd.

Gomez discovered that with more and more success, comes the darker side of fame and constant paparazzi attention. "I'm driving and then I just try to keep my head down, and then they just start getting mean and say things and it's just not something that I really like," she said. And with a hit show, a blossoming film career and four hit singles, the glare of the spotlight only intensified when she started dating a music megastar. Gomez talks about the difficulties dealing with such a high profile relationship and answers Ryan directly.

Don't miss this exclusive one-on-one interview when the E! Special "RYAN SEACREST WITH SELENA GOMEZ" premieres Sunday, July 21 at 10:00pm ET/PT.
