HULU 2013 TELEVISION CRITICS ASSOCIATION PRESS TOUR

LOS ANGELES (July 31, 2013)

SHOWS PRESENTED AT TCA

"The Awesomes" - Premieres: August 1, 2013

"The Awesomes" is an animated show for adults that combines the thrills of comic book storytelling with the irreverent and inspired comedy that is the hallmark of show co-creators Seth Meyers ("SNL") and Michael Shoemaker ("Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"). It is the story about the greatest superhero team in history, The Awesomes, and what happens after all the most powerful members leave. The team is led by the possibly under-qualified Professor Doctor Awesome, voiced by Meyers, who is determined to bring these funny-if-flawed superheroes to glory. Meyers and Shoemaker called upon their many friends in the comedy world to voice the characters, including Rashida Jones, Ike Barinholtz, Josh Meyers and some of "Saturday Night Live's" most celebrated cast and alumni Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Emily Spivey, Bobby Moynihan, Taran Killam, Rachel Dratch and Paula Pell. This first animated Hulu Original Series is executive produced by Meyers, Shoemaker, and Broadway Video.

"Quick Draw" - Premieres: August 5, 2013

For fans of: "The League," "Reno 911," "Veep"

From writer/director Nancy Hower and writer/star John Lehr, "Quick Draw" is a comedic half-hour western set in 1875 that centers on a Harvard-educated sheriff and his quest to introduce the emerging science of forensics to an unruly Kansas town. Though the citizens of Great Bend, Kansas are generally unimpressed with Sheriff Hoyle's (Lehr) educational pedigree, they come to appreciate his sharp mind and sharper shooting as he and his reluctant Deputy Eli (Nick Brown) hunt down robbers, murderers, and the dangerous riff-raff that have plagued the town for years. The series is co-created and executive produced by Nancy Hower and John Lehr ("10 Items or Less," "Jailbait") and co-executive produced by Keith Raskin ("Key & Peele," "The League").

"The Wrong Mans" - Premieres: November 11, 2013

For fans of: "Spy," "Chuck," "The Office (U.K.)," "Peep Show," "Hot Fuzz"

Co-written by and co-starring Tony Award-winner James Corden ("Doctor Who," "Gulliver's Travels," "Gavin & Stacey") and Mathew Baynton ("Peep Show," "Spy," "Gavin & Stacey"), the series centers on Sam (Baynton), and Phil (Corden), two lowly office workers who become caught up in a deadly criminal conspiracy after Sam discovers a ringing phone at the scene of a horrific car crash. Answering this phone turns his world upside down, as he and Phil soon realize it's up to them to step up and save the day. They are in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong skills. They are The Wrong Mans. Hulu's second co-production with BBC brokered by BBC Worldwide Americas, the series is directed and produced by Jim Field Smith ("Episodes," "Butter," "She's Out of My League") and executive produced by Mark Freeland for BBC.

"Behind the Mask" - Premieres: October 29, 2013

For fans of: "Hard Knocks," "Hoop Dreams," "Project Greenlight"

"Behind the Mask" takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes adventure into the colorful and never- before-seen world of sports mascots. Told from four mascot's perspectives: high school (Lebanon High School's Rooty the Cedar Tree), college (UNLV's Hey Reb), minor league (hockey mascot Tux the Penguin), and professional (NBA mascot Bango of the Milwaukee Bucks), "Behind the Mask" takes an authentic look at the sports world's most unsung heroes. Funny, entertaining, and at times poignant, this show tells the moving stories of these real-life Clark Kents, capturing their highs and lows, both inside and outside the suit. "Behind the Mask" is created by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Josh Greenbaum and produced by Occupant Entertainment ("Better Living Through Chemistry," "The Wackness").

"Mother Up!" - Premieres: Fall TBC

For fans of: "South Park," "Family Guy," "Up All Night," "Don't Trust the B- in Apartment 23"

"Mother Up!" is a 13-episode, half-hour animated comedy series chronicling the misguided attempts at parenthood of Rudi Wilson (Eva Longoria), a disgraced former music exec, as she transitions from the towers of Manhattan to the carpool line of suburbia, where she finds herself alone and hopelessly underequipped to manage her two kids and new life. Bringing her street smarts and urban lifestyle to the suburbs, Rudi confronts the endless challenges of parenthood with a series of misguided improvised solutions, putting her life on the line like never before. Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives") and Mass Animation's Yair Landau ("Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs") and Michael Shipley ("Family Guy," "American Dad") are executive producers. The series was developed by Rogers Media and co-produced by Breakthrough Entertainment and Bardel Entertainment, in association with Mass Animation.

ALSO COMING SOON TO HULU

"Fugget About It"

For fans of: "Family Guy," "American Dad!" "South Park," "The Simpsons"

A hilarious, edgy and outrageous animated sitcom about the misadventures of Jimmy Falcone, a former New York mob boss, and his family who must enter a witness protection program in small-town Canada. The Falcones are now the "MacDougals" and it's not easy going from glorified gangsters to neighborhood nobodies. It's a fish out of water story, except these fish are sharks! The show features notable guest appearances including Andrea Martin and Howie Mandel. "Fugget About It," airing on Fridays at 10pm, was the #1 most watched Canadian show on TELETOON at Night for adults 18-49.

"The Strange Calls"

Part oddball comedy, part mystery, "The Strange Calls" paints a light-hearted portrait of Toby Banks (Toby Truslove) - a lost young man, slowly and un-surely finding his place in the world. Banks, a city cop, is demoted to night duty in the sleepy town of Coolum. He teams up with local eccentric Gregor (Barry Crocker) to investigate the strange calls: bizarre phone calls that expose the paranormal mysteries of the town. These moments of midnight madness reveal the bizarre truth of the town - a place where people turn into chickens, mermen go to the school dance and a mysterious radio jingle can transform you into a lawn mowing zombie.

"Run"

Painting a compelling picture of modern-day life, "Run" is an original four-part drama that weaves together the stories of four seemingly unconnected people facing life-changing decisions in a world where every choice is a luxury. Raw and uncompromising, but full of humanity and hope, "Run" is a powerful take on inner city life and how every choice we make has consequences for those around us. "Run" stars Olivia Colman ("Rev," "Broadchurch," "Peep Show"), Katie Leung ("Harry Potter," "Wild Swans"), Lennie James ("Line of Duty," "The Walking Dead") and Katharina Schttler ("The Promise").

"Misfits" Season Five

Hulu's hit series about a group of young offenders sentenced to work in a community service program where they obtain supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm returns for its fifth and final season later this year. Known for its witty writing and endearing characters, "Misfits" continues to be one of the most popular shows on Hulu.

"Moone Boy" Season Two

For fans of: "About a Boy," "Billy Elliot," "Flight of the Conchords"

The hilarious and award-winning comedy series returns later this year with the further adventures of Martin (David Rawle), youngest member of the large, loud and chaotic Moone family living in rural Ireland. The semi-autobiographical series is co-written by and stars Chris O'Dowd ("Bridesmaids," "Family Tree" "The IT Crowd") as Martin's imaginary friend Sean Murphy. Martin's unique view on life, combined with Sean's not always helpful advice, draws him into a whole new series of ridiculous schemes - although his parents and sisters are far too distracted by their own lives to notice what Martin's up to. It's now 1990 and, as Martin moves up to a new school, things are changing in the Moone household.
