FREEDOM (ABC, New!) - "Last Resort" co-creators Karl Gajdusek and Shawn Ryan are back in business with the Alphabet for a new drama about "a group of brilliant, eclectic, freethinking Ivy League students who help create the next resistance movement to government and corporate powers modeled after hacker collectives like Anonymous or Wikileaks." Gajdusek will pen the hour, which has a sizable penalty attached, with Ryan and Marney Hochman also serving as executive producers via their Sony Pictures Television-based MiddKidd Productions. RICH KIDS OF BEVERLY HILLS (E!, New!) - ITV Studios America and Leepson Bounds Entertainment are developing a reality series at the cable channel in which "the offspring of the most elite families and billionaire moguls party, play and support each other against a backdrop of wealth." Said effort is inspired by the success of the Rich Kids of Instagram Tumblr blog. No auspices however were given. (Deadline.com)
