LIFETIME IS GETTING MORE DEVIOUS...

Network Renews MARC CHERRY and EVA LONGORIA'S Hit Drama DEVIOUS MAIDS for Second Season with 13 Episode Order

LOS ANGELES (August 13, 2013) - Lifetime and its viewers are going to get even more Devious next year. The network has renewed for a second season its hit drama Devious Maids (#DeviousMaids), starring Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes, with a 13 episode order, it was announced today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime. Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios.

Since its premiere on June 23, nearly 23 million viewers have watched Devious Maids on Lifetime. It is the network's fastest-growing drama ever, and has catapulted Lifetime to cable's number one network in the Sunday 10:00pm ET/PT time slot among Women. Its 18% Hispanic composition nearly doubles Lifetime's primetime average.

"One of the most daring series on television, Devious Maids has quickly become a hit. We are very proud of the show and are delighted to continue our partnership with Marc Cherry, Eva Longoria, Sabrina Wind, ABC Studios and Televisa USA. I am thrilled we are bringing Devious Maids back for a second season to lead our scripted slate in 2014," said Sharenow.

"ABC Studios has had a great partnership with Lifetime and Televisa and we're looking forward to another terrific season with Marc Cherry and his talented cast and crew," said Stephanie Leifer, Senior Vice President, Current Programming, ABC Studios.

Devious Maids centers on a close-knit group of maids (Ortiz, Ramírez, Sánchez, Ganem and Reyes), bonded together by their jobs, life struggles and boss' melodramatic "upstairs-downstairs" universe, that turns to one another for support after a fellow maid Flora (Paula Garcés) is brutally murdered at the home of her employers. Devious Maids also stars Susan Lucci, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Mariana Klaveno, Grant Show, Matt Cedeño, Melinda Page Hamilton, Drew Van Acker, Brianna Brown and Brett Cullen.

Inspired by the hit telenovela, Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar, Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios. The series was created by Marc Cherry and is executive produced by Cherry, Sabrina Wind, Eva Longoria, Paul McGuigan, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA's Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.
