THE 2013 "MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS PRE-SHOW" TO FEATURE PERFORMANCES BY NEW FACES OF POP AUSTIN MAHONE AND ARIANA GRANDE WITH AUSTRALIAN DJ/PRODUCER DUO NERVO SPINNING LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET IN BROOKLYN ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 25 AT 8:00 P.M. ET/PT

NEW YORK, NY (August 15, 2013) - MTV today announced the 2013 "MTV Video Music Awards" hour-long pre-show will air LIVE on Sunday, August 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT outside of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and feature performances presented by State Farm(R) with the new faces of pop, Austin Mahone and Ariana Grande. Additionally, chart-topping female DJ/Producer duo and COVERGIRLS NERVO will spin from the red carpet throughout the broadcast as MTV News' Sway Calloway, James Montgomery and Christina Garibaldi bring all of the action and interviews with music's hottest stars to viewers at home. Plus, fans will be able to be part of the interview team by submitting video questions for their favorite artists using #AskVMA through Twitter, Vine and Instagram.

Leading up to the star-studded pre-show, MTV will air an all new episode of hit docu-series "Catfish: The TV Show" at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.

"I am so excited to be a part of this year's VMAs. To be nominated for the first time this year was amazing enough, but to now actually be performing for the VMAs, it's literally a dream come true," said Austin Mahone.

"Having grown up watching the VMAs, it's a surreal thrill to be performing on the stage. I can't wait," said Ariana Grande.

"We've watched the VMAs since we were kids and were absolutely honored when asked to play the pre-show this year. We will be flying from our summer residency in Ibiza directly to the VMAs and really can't wait!" said NERVO.

VMA "Artist to Watch" nominee Mahone is set to serenade the streets of Brooklyn with his single "What About Love" from his upcoming debut album, set to release later this year. As part of the lead-up to the 2013 "MTV Video Music Awards," Mahone will perform at a special pop-up concert on Saturday, August 24 during a week-long series of free VMA themed concerts happening throughout New York City and Brooklyn. He will also co-host MTV's "10 on Top" on Saturday, August 24 at 12:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Nickelodeon "Sam and Cat" star Grande will rock the stage with her hit singles "The Way" and "Baby I" from her upcoming album "Yours Truly." In addition, Grande will discuss her upcoming performance as she serves as co-host during this week's episode of MTV's "10 on Top" on Saturday, August 17 at 12:30 p.m. ET/PT.

NERVO made a historic debut as the only females voted onto the coveted DJ Mag 2012 Top DJ's Poll and recently celebrated their very first #1 on the Billboard Club Chart earlier this summer with their latest Astralwerks Records club banger "Hold On." The duo are set for another smash hit with "Not Taking This No More," their upcoming September 23 release. Last November, sisters Liv and Mim added COVERGIRLS to their growing list of credentials which includes DJs, producers, hit songwriters, singers and all around superstars.

Dave Sirulnick and Ryan Kroft are Executive Producers for the 2013 "MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show." Jonathan Mussman is Executive in Charge. Steve Paley is Director. Whitney-Gayle Benta is Executive in Charge of Talent.
