Today, September 9, 2013; "Gossip Girl on Extra" to Air Twice Each Week
BURBANK, Calif. (September 9, 2013) - Gossip Girl's identity may have been revealed in the finale of the hit drama series from Warner Bros. Television, The CW and Alloy Entertainment, but now there's an all-new, all-seeing undercover gossip source delivering the goods and premiering this fall on Extra. The "Gossip Girl on Extra" segment will debut during the week of September 9, 2013, as the popular syndicated entertainment newsmagazine Extra begins its landmark 20th season from its brand-new headquarters at Universal Studios Hollywood.
"Los Angeles and New York are the epicenters of entertainment news," said Extra's Senior Executive Producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey. "The new segment 'Gossip Girl on Extra' will capitalize on that proximity to celebrity news and instantly deliver all the inside news and latest gossip to viewers hungry for exciting dish on their favorite stars."
"Gossip Girl is the perfect brand to deliver entertainment news to Extra's audience, and we are excited to see this fan favorite creatively return to TV," said Alloy Entertainment President Les Morgenstein.
"Gossip Girl on Extra" will air twice weekly on Extra, offering viewers an inside look at the latest Hollywood scoop, from star sightings and style breakthroughs to romantic hookups and - sigh - bad breakups. "Gossip Girl on Extra" reports will also be featured on the show's website at ExtraTV.com and will be supported in social media via the @extratv, @gossip girl and @alloyent Twitter accounts, as well as the Facebook pages of Extra, the Gossip Girl brand and Alloy Entertainment.
You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl ... on Extra.
Extra is the second longest-running entertainment news magazine on U.S. television, with co-hosts Mario Lopez and Maria Menounos reporting in front of a live audience from the show's new hot location at Universal Studios Hollywood. Unlike any other show in the genre, the audience becomes a part of this electric new experience, getting to interact live with Mario and Maria and the A-list celebrities who come to Universal Studios Hollywood and take part in interactive, unpredictable and "event style" interviews. The show takes viewers on a coast-to-coast trip in every episode, from Hollywood to Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas to Times Square in New York City and beyond. Extra continues to provide a hip, fresh and unique approach to breaking entertainment news. Extra is produced by Telepictures Productions and is distributed by Warner Bros.
