HBO Receives 27 Primetime Emmy(R) Awards, the Most of Any Network This Year; "Behind the Candelabra" Leads All Programming with 11 Emmys(R)

HBO RECEIVES 27 PRIMETIME EMMY(R) AWARDS, THE MOST OF ANY NETWORK THIS YEAR; "BEHIND THE CANDELABRA" LEADS ALL PROGRAMMING WITH 11 EMMYS(R)

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23, 2013 - HBO received 27 Primetime Emmy(R) Awards, the most of any network for the 12th year in a row, in the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy(R) Awards competition. "Behind the Candelabra" received 11 awards, the most of any program, while "Boardwalk Empire" received 5 awards, the second-most of any program.

HBO's Emmy(R) wins this year include:

* 11 Emmys(R) for "Behind the Candelabra," including Outstanding Miniseries or Movie; Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Michael Douglas); Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Steven Soderbergh); Outstanding Art Direction for a Miniseries or Movie; Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special; Outstanding Costumes for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special; Outstanding Hairstyling for a Miniseries or a Movie; Outstanding Makeup for a Miniseries or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic); Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or a Special; Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Miniseries or a Movie; and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Miniseries or a Movie.

* 2 Emmys(R) for "Game of Thrones," including Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic); and Outstanding Special Visual Effects.

* 2 Emmys(R) for "Veep," including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Julia Louis-Dreyfus); and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Tony Hale).

* 1 Emmy(R) for "An Apology to Elephants": Outstanding Voice-Over Performance (Lily Tomlin).

* 1 Emmy(R) for "Louis C.K.: Oh My God": Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special (Louis C.K.).

* 1 Emmy(R) for "Manhunt: The Inside Story of the Hunt for Bin Laden": Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

* 1 Emmy(R) for "The Newsroom": Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Jeff Daniels).

The CINEMAX series "Banshee" also received an Emmy(R), for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role.
