TNT and TBS to Invade New York Comic Con with "Falling Skies," "Mob City," "King of the Nerds" and "The Pete Holmes Show"

Top-rated cable networks TNT and TBS are preparing to invade New York Comic Con with four exciting panels for the Oct. 10-13 event. TNT will present panels for its epic sci-fi series Falling Skies, which returns for its fourth season in summer 2014, and eagerly anticipated noir drama Mob City, which premieres Dec. 4. TBS will stage panels for the hit competition show King of the Nerds, which returns for its second season Jan. 23, and the upcoming late-night series The Pete Holmes Show, which premieres Oct. 28. In addition, TBS is sponsoring a special live edition of the popular If I Were You podcast, guest-starring Pete Holmes.

New York Comic Con will take place at the Javits Center, located at 655 West 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan. The following is a complete rundown of TNT and TBS's New York Comic Con panels, including times, locations and information about each series.

TNT's Falling Skies

Falling Skies: The Magic Behind the Series Friday, Oct. 11 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. Theater 1E

TNT's Falling Skies panel will showcase the extraordinary efforts that go behind bringing the epic series' aliens to life. The session will include actor Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy), who plays the character Cochise of the Volm race. He will be joined by Falling Skies character effects supervisor Todd Masters (Fringe, True Blood) and puppeteer Keith Arbuthnot (Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show). In addition, Falling Skies' new showrunner David Eick (Battlestar Galactica) will be on-hand to discuss his vision for the show's fourth season and provide a few exclusive spoilers for the NY Comic Con crowd. TV Guide Magazine editor Rich Sands will serve as the moderator.

About TNT's Falling Skies

TNT's Falling Skies, which will launch its fourth season in summer 2014, is the epic drama from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg and starring Noah Wyle. The series tells the extraordinary tale of life and survival in the wake of a catastrophic alien invasion. Wyle plays Tom Mason, a college professor who becomes an unlikely resistance leader after a massive invasion by an alien force. The series also stars Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Colin Cunningham, Sarah Carter, Maxim Knight, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho, and Doug Jones. In addition to Spielberg, season three of Falling Skies is executive-produced by DreamWorks Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, along with Remi Aubuchon and Greg Beeman. David Eick will serve as executive producer and showrunner for the fourth season.

TNT's Mob City

Mob City sneak peek & panel Saturday, Oct. 12 3 - 4 p.m. Room 1A23

TNT will present a sneak peek of Mob City, the eagerly anticipated new drama series from writer-director-executive producer Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead). Following the presentation, Darabont and cast members Ed Burns (Entourage), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and Robert Knepper (Prison Break) will participate in a panel discussion. TV Guide Magazine editor-in-chief Debra Birnbaum will serve as the moderator.

About TNT's Mob City

The epic battle between a determined police chief and a dangerous mobster inflames 1940s Los Angeles in TNT's eagerly anticipated television event Mob City, premiering Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). This powerful drama comes to TNT from Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead), who wrote and directed the pilot and serves as executive producer on the series. Mob City stars an exceptional ensemble cast that includes Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Jeffrey DeMunn (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption), Neal McDonough (Captain America, Desperate Housewives), Ed Burns (Entourage), Gregory Itzin (24), Robert Knepper (Prison Break), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), Alexa Davalos (Clash of the Titans, The Mist) and Jeremy Luke (Don Jon). Based on the critically acclaimed book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City, by John Buntin, Mob City centers on Det. Joe Teague (Bernthal), an ex-Marine who holds his cards close to his chest. Teague has been assigned to a new mob task force headed by Det. Hal Morrison (DeMunn). The task force is part of a crusade by Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker (McDonough) to free the city of criminals like Ben "Bugsy" Siegel (Burns) and Mickey Cohen (Luke), the ruthless king of the Los Angeles underworld. Parker also won't hesitate to go after anyone from his own police force who sells out honor and duty for the sake of a big payout. Mob City is produced by TNT Originals. Also serving as executive producers on the series are Michael De Luca (The Social Network) and Elliot Webb (Alpha House).

TBS's King of the Nerds

King of the Nerds Season 2 sneak peek & panel Saturday, Oct. 12 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. Room 1A10

The nerds are coming to New York as TBS presents a sneak peek of second season of the hit competition series King of the Nerds, premiering in January. Executive producers and hosts Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong will discuss the upcoming season, the nerd-tastic new challenges and the new pack of contestants, including "The People's Nerd," who has been chosen by the fans themselves to take part in the competition. Carradine and Armstrong will be joined by season one runner-up Genevieve Pearson, who now serves as a King of the Nerds challenge consultant. Season one contestant Joshua Ovenshire will serve as the moderator.

About King of the Nerds

Television's ultimate nerd-off is ready to find a new champion when TBS's hit competition series King of the Nerds returns for its second season Thursday, Jan. 23, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). Hosted by actors Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong, King of the Nerds invites competitors from across the full nerd spectrum to come together and face challenges that will test their intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop-culture prowess. Once arriving at Nerdvana, nerds will compete as teams before moving on to individual challenges, all with the goal of being named the quintessential master of all things nerdy. TBS's The Pete Holmes Show

There's a new face coming to late night television. Pete Holmes, one of Variety's "Top 10 Comics To Watch" and host of the popular You Made It Weird podcast, will present an inside sneak peek of TBS's new late-night series The Pete Holmes Show. Executive producer Nick Bernstein and co-executive producer Oren Brimer will join Pete on a panel led by moderator Don Steinberg of the Wall Street Journal. They'll screen clips from the show and reveal tidbits on what's to come, as well as answer questions about the new series. And according to Pete, it's pretty likely that someone will be wearing spandex.

About The Pete Holmes Show On Oct. 28, TBS will launch the brand new late-night series The Pete Holmes Show, starring comedian Pete Holmes of the You Made It Weird podcast and Funny Or Die's Batman parodies. Produced by Conan O'Brien's Conaco LLC, the series will air Monday-Thursday nights at midnight (ET/PT), following TBS's late-night hit CONAN. The Pete Holmes Show will showcase Pete's incredible skill set, combining comedy, in-studio guest interviews, sketches and video pieces into a fast-paced half-hour taped before a live studio audience.
