Santa Monica, CA - October 10, 2013 - Ovation, America's only arts network, today announced the official premiere date for
The Fashion Fund
-- Tuesday, November 12th at 10PM ET. Offering unprecedented access to the world of fashion, this one-hour series documents emerging fashion designers vying for the chance to be named the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund is in its 10th year and has transformed emerging designers into true fashion icons. Working alongside some of the top names in fashion, ten innovative, American-based designers, compete for the top award that carries an incredible $300,000 grant and a one-year mentorship with an industry titan. The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund selection committee is comprised of iconic names from Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg to top-level fashion executives such as Ken Downing of Neiman Marcus, Andrew Rosen of Theory, Jenna Lyons of J.Crew, and more.
"It's truly an honor to be working with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and Anna Wintour herself," said Robert Weiss, Ovation's Chief Creative Officer. "The Fashion Fund is the real deal. This is not another made-for-TV fashion competition series. Nothing has ever come this close to matching the authenticity and talent found in The Fashion Fund."
In The Fashion Fund, viewers are given exclusive access into the fashion world as they journey into the lives of the emerging designers. We get to know the designers as their visions, technical abilities, and business acumen are all tested - pushing them to their highest potential. The series takes viewers inside legendary studio visits, a Vogue fashion photo shoot and culminates with a presentation at NYC Fashion Week and the announcement of the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner.
· "Call of a Lifetime" - Inside the "war room," The Fashion Fund committee reviews submissions and deliberates over which designers - of the hundreds who applied - will be selected as the 10 finalists.
· "Facing the Committee" - The 10 finalists deliver nerve-wracking final presentations to the committee, including an intense interview, and offer a look at their past, present, and future collections.
· "In Front of the Camera" - In addition to site visits to the finalists' studios from Anna Wintour and other committee members, a shoot for the November issue of Vogue pairs each designer with a celebrity counterpart for a stunning portrait.
· "Fashion Week Frenzy" - During New York City Fashion Week, finalists work frantically to stage their shows while also meeting with buyers whose reactions can determine their fate.
· "Cocktails with the Committee" - As the Uniqlo design challenge is revealed, and past finalists mentor this year's top 10, designers attend the cocktail party of a lifetime - hosted by Anna Wintour.
· "The Final Cut" - After a fashion show at LA's Chateau Marmont, the committee meets to make a final decision, and a special guest announces this year's winner at the annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards dinner.
The series is produced by Condé Nast Entertainment, Break Thru Films and Ovation.
Season One of The Fashion Fund is comprised of six, one-hour episodes which will premiere on Ovation beginning Tuesday, November 12, with new episodes airing weekly at 10pm ET.
