NEW EPISODES OF "SCORING THE DEAL" COMING TO HGTV IN FEBRUARY

New York [For Immediate Release - January 27, 2014] The world's hottest professional athletes spend millions on luxurious homes, and Jason Abrams - the self-described "Jerry Maguire of Real Estate" - returns to help them navigate the fast-paced world of high-end home buying in HGTV's Scoring the Deal. In the new episodes, premiering on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, real estate expert Abrams and partner Kristen Cook help find dream homes for some of the greatest names in the game, such as NFL stars Kyle Arrington, EJ Manuel and Keith Bulluck; NBA pros Rudy Gay and CJ Watson; MLB's Jerry Hairston Jr., Brandon McCarthy and David Wells; NHL star Kyle Quincey and WMBA standout Brittany Jackson.

"When pro athletes get traded, become free agents or need a second home, that's where I come in," said Abrams. "Most real estate agents deal with a specific territory, but I deal with the entire country. And it's my dream job to find these athletes their dream homes - with only a few days to complete the transaction."

The premiere episode features NBA star Rudy Gay and his fiancé Ecko, who have been living in a hotel room since he was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Toronto Raptors. Not quite ready for permanent roots, the couple is eager to find the perfect luxury rental. Also featured is former MLB World Series pitcher David Wells who wants to list his sprawling Tuscan-style mansion located in Fairbanks Ranch, San Diego. The Abrams' team sets out to find comparable homes and the best listing price for the Wells' estate.

"Our viewers love watching people buy, sell and renovate homes, so to see their favorite pro athletes take on the high stakes of luxury real estate in Scoring the Deal is even more compelling," said Steven Lerner, senior vice president, programming and production HGTV and DIY Network. "Jason Abrams not only shows viewers and his clients the country's most amazing homes, he spends time with the athletes, which offers viewers the chance to see how celebrities live outside the arena."
