COMEDY CENTRAL(R) RENEWS "BROAD CITY" FOR A SECOND SEASON

NEW YORK, February 25, 2014 - Comedy Central has renewed its latest hit series, the critically-acclaimed scripted "Broad City," for a second season, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central. The second season of "Broad City" will consist of 10 episodes.

"I didn't realize 'Broad City' was so good until I read all the incredible reviews," said Alterman. "Now I'm really excited about it."

"Broad City" launched to critical acclaim on January 22 and is currently in the middle of its first season with new episodes premiering on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. The series, created by Jacobson and Glazer, who executive produce along with Amy Poehler, 3 Arts' Dave Becky, Sam Saifer and Tony Hernandez, and is co-executive produced by Eric Slovin, averages 1.2 million total viewers per episode and is pacing to have the highest-rated premiere season on Comedy Central since 2012 with Adults 18-34 and 18-24, Men 18-34 and 18-24 and Women 18-24. Courtesy of the collective brains of and starring Jacobson and Glazer, "Broad City" is an odd couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City, whose adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths. They're broke, flawed and don't shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them - they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.

Joining Jacobson and Glazer as series regulars in the first season are Hannibal Buress, Arturo Castro, Paul Downs, John Gemberling, Chris Gethard and Stephen Schneider as well as guest stars Fred Armisen, Rachel Dratch, Janeane Garofalo, Michelle Hurst, Matt Jones, Pat Kiernan, Jason Mantzoukas, Seth Morris, Amy Poehler and Amy Sedaris.

The ten-episode first season is executive produced by Jacobson, Glazer, Amy Poehler, 3 Arts' Dave Becky, Sam Saifer, and Tony Hernandez, along with Eric Slovin as Co-Executive Producer. Brooke Posch is the Executive in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
