TRAVEL CHANNEL LAUNCHES SEASON SEVEN OF "MYSTERIES AT THE MUSEUM" WITH HISTORY EXPLORER DON WILDMAN

All-New Episodes Premiere on Fridays Beginning September 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT

CHEVY CHASE, MD (August 6, 2014) - A Viking vessel is housed at the Hjemkomst Center in Minnesota. A wooden crate in Texas is believed to hold a medical miracle. These are among the thousands of museum artifacts that reveal fascinating tales about America's rich past. In the upcoming seventh season of the popular Travel Channel series, "Mysteries at the Museum," history explorer Don Wildman continues to scour the United States, unearthing extraordinary relics that share a new perspective to some of our country's most intriguing stories. The 13 all-new, one-hour episodes will premiere on Fridays starting on Friday, September 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Through compelling interviews, rarely-seen archival footage and enthralling recreations, "Mysteries at the Museum" illuminates the hidden treasures at the heart of America's incredible triumphs and unusual encounters. The season seven premiere will include:

· A closer look at a 1950s-era brassiere at the St. Petersburg Museum of History in Florida, which played a strange role in one of the most salacious scams the nation has ever seen.

· An exploration of the Cripple Creek District Museum in Colorado, which is home to a human cranium that provides a grim reminder of a dark chapter in Cripple Creek's past.

· A visit to the charming town of Stratford, Conn., where the John Zaffis Museum of the Paranormal houses a figurine of the Virgin Mary that's been viciously mutilated by supernatural means.

· An inspection of an unassuming aircraft at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Fl. that speaks to one of the most dramatic operations in military history.

· A peek at a curious aquatic critter at the Salida Museum in Colorado that once hooked the public's imagination and transformed the city of Salida.

· An investigation of a mangled sword at the Virginia Historical Society in Richmond, which bears the scars of an unprecedented, earth-shaking trauma.

"Mysteries at the Museum" is produced by Optomen Productions, Inc. for Travel Channel. For Optomen, executive producers are Nicola Moody and Dominic Stobart. Co-executive producer is Tim McConville. Series producer is Ben Parry. For Travel Channel, executive producer is David E. Gerber.
