I LOVE YOUR EX (ABC, New!) - Angela Kinsey ("The Office") is set to team with Rachel Specter and Audrey Wauchope ("Cougar Town") for a new single-camera comedy about "a woman and her ex-husband's new girlfriend who end up becoming BFFs - much to the annoyance of the guy stuck in the middle." Darlene Hunt and Will Gluck will likewise executive produce the project, which has a script commitment plus penalty, via the latter's Sony Pictures Television-based Oliver Bridge Entertainment. Kinsey is also attached to star. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CHASE & D'ANGELO PROJECT (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Brad Copeland; D: TBA) - Brad Copeland ("The Inbetweeners") has been tapped to pen the proposed single-camera comedy, about spouses (Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo) in their 60s who are finally enjoying their golden years who now are forced to raise their grandchildren. ABC Studios has likewise signed on to produce the half-hour alongside Aaron Kaplan's Kapital Entertainment. Said effort was originally set up in January with "a big penalty said to be the size of a production commitment." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JEFF ASTROF PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Jeff Astrof ("Ground Floor") has scored a pilot production commitment for a new multi-camera comedy about "two lifelong best friends who are poised to become successful restaurateurs - if they can keep from killing each other. In order to keep their business (and friendship) alive, the two decide to see a couples therapist, who will guide them through life, love and the fast-paced world of being big-city restaurant owners." The Warner Bros. Television-based Doozer is behind the half-hour with the company's Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold executive producing alongside All3 Media America's Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert. Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow, owners of the Meatball Shop restaurants in New York City, will serve as consulting producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KEVIN NEALON/SUSAN YEAGLEY PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Real-life spouses Kevin Nealon and Susan Yeagley have sold a potential comedy to the Peacock about "a recently divorced couple who find themselves still tied to their close-knit family (and each other) through their jointly owned business - a bar off the Las Vegas Strip." Said duo will pen the script and serve as co-executive producers with Nealon expected to star and Yeagley to appear in a supporting role. No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - AMC is in final negotiations to co-produce the sci-fi drama series "Humans," previously set up at Microsoft's Xbox (Deadline.com); Greg Ellis will recur on "Hawaii Five-0" as "an antique book shop owner who Jerry (Jorge Garcia) believes is running a major counterfeiting money operation on O'ahu" (Deadline.com); Mykelti Williamson will visit "Nashville" as "a brilliant musician who, after suffering a terrible personal tragedy, lives as a nomad on the streets of Nashville" (Deadline.com);
Andrea Parker will recur on "Red Band Society" as "the mother of Kara Sounders (Zoe Levin), a wealthy, driven, dedicated and fashionable woman who has connections and usually gets what she wants" (Deadline.com); Owain Yeoman has joined the cast of "Turn" as Benedict Arnold, "the American Continental Army General who defected to the British side" (Deadline.com); "Friends with Better Lives" alum Kevin Connolly has inked an overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television (Deadline.com); and Shohreh Aghdashloo will guest on "Scorpion" as "a psychologist assigned to evaluate Walter and the team following a chaotic and costly conclusion to one of their cases" (EW.com).
