CRACKLE BEGINS PRODUCTION ON FULL LENGTH ORIGINAL FEATURE FILM "THE THROWAWAYS" EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY JEREMY RENNER AND STARRING JAMES CAAN, KEVIN DILLON AND SAM HUNTINGTON

90-minute International Cyber Spy Thriller Currently Shooting in the Eastern European City of Sofia; Release Scheduled for December 2014

CULVER CITY, CALIF. (September 22, 2014) - Crackle, the multi-platform digital entertainment network, expands its portfolio of original content with the start of production on its second full-length feature film, THE THROWAWAYS, starring Golden Globe-nominated screen legend James Caan ("Las Vegas," THE GODFATHER), Kevin Dillon ("Entourage," PLATOON) and Sam Huntington ("Being Human," SUPERMAN RETURNS). Written by Michael Ross (TURISTAS), directed by Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner Tony Bui (THREE SEASONS) and executive produced by Jeremy Renner (THE HURT LOCKER, THE TOWN) and Don Handfield (KILL THE MESSENGER, TOUCHBACK) through their production company The Combine along with Timothy Linh Bui. The 90-minute international cyber spy thriller will premiere exclusively on Crackle and across all Crackle platforms in December 2014.

The feature follows notorious hacker Drew Reynolds (Huntington), who is captured by the CIA and given a proposition - work for them or spend the rest of his life in prison. Reynolds agrees to join on the condition that he gets to choose his own team. Instead of picking from the top agents the CIA recommends, Reynolds goes with a group of "throwaways," those deemed expendable and seemingly the worst in the organization. Led by Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Holden (Caan) and including gung-ho combat specialist Dan Fisher (Dillon), THE THROWAWAYS have to track and take down a cyber-terrorist who is threatening mass destruction.

Filming location for the cinematic feature is set in the Eastern European city of Sofia, Bulgaria and will continue through October, 2014.

THE THROWAWAYS joins Crackle's strong portfolio of award-winning original content that includes the two-time Emmy(R)-nominated comedy series, Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedian's in Cars Getting Coffee," "Chosen," "Cleaners," "Sequestered" returning October 14, 2014 and "Sports Jeopardy!" with Dan Patrick premiering September 24, 2014.

Jeremy Renner and his producing partner Don Handfield formed The Combine in 2011, to create develop and produce high-quality, character-driven content for mainstream audiences. Their first project is the upcoming motion picture KILL THE MESSENGER for Focus Features.
