ELECTUS INTERNATIONAL SELLS "RUNNING WILD WITH BEAR GRYLLS" TO DISCOVERY NETWORKS INTERNATIONAL
New York, NY - (September 23, 2014) Electus International today announced the sale of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, to Discovery Networks International. The series, which premiered in the U.S. on NBC in July, is co-produced by Bear Grylls Ventures and Electus. The series will premiere on Discovery Networks International's factual channels later this fall in nearly 220 countries and territories across Western Europe, CEEMEA (Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa), Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Running Wild with Bear Grylls is a new hour-long series in which Grylls will take celebrities into "remote and wild locations in the U.S. and around the world" for 48 hours. Celebs include Zac Efron, Ben Stiller, Channing Tatum, Deion Sanders, Tom Arnold, and The Today Show's Tamron Hall.
"Bear Grylls continues to be one of the most famous survivalist draws in the world, and Running Wild meshes that draw with some of the world's most famous celebrities for a can't miss event," said John Pollak, President of Electus International. "Partnering with Discovery Networks International once again to bring another Bear Grylls show to their audiences worldwide is a huge accomplishment."
Airing on NBC, Running Wild was the summer's top-rated new unscripted series. Debuting in July, the show earned 4.6 million viewers, and was the #2 summer reality launch in the United States.
