LAS REINAS (ABC, New!) - Dean Georgaris (Tristan + Isolde) has set up another new drama at the Alphabet, about " the lives of the men and women in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Miami Police department. It centers on the mercurial heart and soul of the squad, Alex De La Reina, a woman who turned her back on her natal family when she discovered they run Florida's most powerful and dangerous criminal syndicate." Said effort is set up at ABC Studios with Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper also executive producing via the former's self-titled banner. (Deadline.com)
MKULTRA (ABC, New!) - Karen Stillman is spearheading a potential mini-series at the Alphabet about "the CIA's top-secret research project on the behavioral engineering of humans. The program, which was carried on through the 1950s and '60s, has come under fire for its use of unwitting U.S. and Canadian citizens as test subjects in experiments that involved the use of drugs (most famously LSD) as tools for interrogation or mind control. The scope of techniques used to manipulate people also included hypnosis, sensory deprivation, sexual and verbal abuse and torture." The project is set up at ABC Signature, home to Stillman's other project, "Debt" from ABC Family. (Deadline.com)
RUSH HOUR (CBS, New!) - Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick's small screen take on the film franchise - about "a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer (Jackie Chan) assigned to a case in Los Angeles, where he's forced to work with a cocky black LAPD officer (Chris Tucker) who has no interest in a partner" - has found a home at CBS with a pilot production commitment. Brett Ratner and Arthur Sarkissian are also on board to executive produce the hour, which is set up at Lawrence and Jeff Ingold's Warner Bros. Television-based Doozer banner. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED FELICITY HUFFMAN PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Actress Felicity Huffman, writer Carol Mendelsohn and director Michael Dinner are set to team for a new drama about "a special agent (Huffman) who is the fearless leader of a team of young agents on the New York City Joint Terrorism Task Force. A self-proclaimed sexual omnivore but true romantic at heart, she relies on her innate intuition, wry sense of humor and unbelievable ability to draw connections between disconnected bits of information that come across her desk." Said effort, which is on track for a put pilot commitment, comes from Sony Pictures Television-based Carol Mendelsohn Productions with Rachel Winter, Robyn Meisinger, Adam Kolbrenner and Julie Weitz also serving as executive producers and Kate DiMento producing. (Deadline.com)
WENDY AND PETER (NBC, New!) - Actress/writer Marisa Coughlan has sold a single-camera comedy to the Peacock billed as "a workplace romantic comedy told from the point of view of Wendy, a woman who wants to find love with a real man, but finds herself falling for Peter, who refuses to fully embrace adulthood." Warner Bros. Television is behind the half-hour, which has a penalty attached, with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack executive producing via their Le Train Train banner and Jeff Grosvenor co-executive producing. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Nicholas D'Agosto has been cast as Harvey Dent, "a bright, charming, idealistic Assistant District Attorney whose sole mission is to eradicate crime and corruption," in FOX's "Gotham", a character fated to become the villainous Two-Face (Deadline.com); Angela Kinsey will recur on "Bad Judge" as "Rebecca's old pal from childhood, who is recently divorced and looks for help to regain some happiness and make up for the lost time she spent with her loser ex" (EW.com); and Adina Porter is bound for "The 100" as a Grounder warrior named Indra (TVLine.com).
