Six-episode Weekly Webseries "Things to Know" Launches Today Featuring The Skimm Founders Giving Their Unique Perspective on Today's Hottest Trends

Los Angeles - Continuing to partner with innovative new brands, Oprah.com announced today it is collaborating with one of the fastest-growing online start-ups to date, theSkimm, the daily email newsletter that delivers top news stories with a fresh spin. The partnership will bring theSkimm's unique voice to Oprah.com users as its founders Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg will deliver their unique perspective on the hottest trends and terms that are in the news with a weekly web series available exclusively across Oprah.com's digital platforms.

Beginning today, Wednesday, October 15, users will have access to exclusive video content via Oprah.com and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's dedicated YouTube channel at YouTube.com/own, where theSkimm founders Carly and Danielle will editorialize about relevant topics featured in their daily email newsletter. A new webisode titled "Things to Know," based on a section in their newsletter, will rollout every Wednesday for six weeks. Additionally, the partnership will feature an interactive mid-term election guide and an Island Getaway sweepstakes opportunity.

This collaboration comes on the heels of several strategic relationships with innovative media brands that have expanded Oprah.com's online presence across an ever-broadening demographic range of users. These include alliances with The Huffington Post, YouTube Space LA and Flipboard, which have helped Oprah.com to evolve into a robust and expansive online platform.

"This partnership is a great fit for Oprah.com, and comes as we aim to align our platform with unique and growing brands whose voices complement our own," said Glenn Kaino, SVP of Digital, OWN. "theSkimm is a relevant, fresh force in the world right now, and we believe both of our audiences will benefit from this collaboration. This project exposes our work to younger viewers, expanding our presence, while connecting our existing audience to this fast-growing community."

"We grew up watching Oprah and have been inspired by everything she has done to pave the way for young women entrepreneurs. We have been approached with a lot of opportunities to collaborate together and create our first video content, but when Oprah came calling we knew we had to go with the best in the business. It's an honor to have her as a Skimm'r," said Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin, founders of theSkimm.
