SEC Network Hires Gail Goestenkors; Announces Roster of Women's Basketball Commentators
The newly launched SEC Network will air more than 60 games on television this season with a doubleheader every Sunday and Thursday and a Women's Game of the Week every Monday.

SEC Network Hires Gail Goestenkors; Announces Roster of Women's Basketball Commentators

SEC Network has hired Gail Goestenkors as part of a staple of women's basketball commentators set to cover more than 190 Southeastern Conference games scheduled across the network's television and digital platforms this season. The newly launched SEC Network will air more than 60 games on television this season with a doubleheader every Sunday and Thursday and a Women's Game of the Week every Monday. In addition, SEC Network will carry more than 130 games as digitally exclusive SEC Network + events available on WatchESPN and SECNetwork.com. The network will also televise the first, second and quarterfinal rounds of the SEC Women's Tournament.

Commentators utilized for in-game analysis or in surrounding studio discussion will include:

SEC Network Women's Basketball Play-by-Play Commentators:

· Paul Sunderland - an Olympic athlete, Sunderland has built a versatile broadcasting career covering professional, collegiate and Olympic sports over nearly 20 years

· Cara Capuano - has covered women's sports at ESPN for ten years in addition to her sideline and studio roles, Cara will now cover SEC Network women's basketball games

· Brenda VanLengen - a two-time All-American and a basketball coach for eight season, VanLengen has provided commentary for ESPN since 1996

SEC Network Women's Basketball Analysts

· Debbie Antonelli - former NC State forward, Antonelli has covered ESPN's NCAA Women's Tournament coverage for nearly 15 years. She will now provide weekly analysis for SEC Network

· Nell Fortner - former Auburn Coach and USA Basketball Coach for the 2000 Olympic Games, Fortner will provide analysis for SEC Network games and studio

· Gail Goestenkors - former Duke and Texas women's basketball coach, Goestenkors had seven consecutive 30-win seasons and was the AP National Coach of the Year in 2007. SEC Network will mark her first role as an analyst. She will contribute to other ESPN networks as well

· Carolyn Peck - an accomplished figure in women's basketball, Peck returned to ESPN in 2007 after coaching at the University of Florida. She played at Vanderbilt University and was also a coaching assistant at Tennessee and Kentucky and won a national title with Purdue in 1999. Peck will continue to contribute across ESPN networks, espnW and now SEC Network

· Steffi Sorensen - former Florida team captain in 2010, Sorensen will provide analysis for women's basketball as a recent SEC student-athlete

· Carol Ross -Ross played guard at Ole Miss and was the head women's basketball coach at Florida and Ole Miss where she was recognized at the SEC Coach of the Year (2004). After recently coaching in the WNBA, Ross returns to the ESPN to provide SEC coaching and player perspective to SEC Network

The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have signed a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network which will launch August 14, 2014. The new network and its accompanying digital platform will carry SEC content 24/7 including more than 1,000 events in its first year. The network will televise 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, and events from across the SEC's 21 sports annually. Programming will also include in-depth commentary and analysis in studio shows, daily news and information, original content such as SEC Storied, spring football games, and more.
