CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED DRAMA SERIES "THE FALL" TO PREMIERE SECOND SEASON EXCLUSIVELY ON NETFLIX IN THE US AND LATIN AMERICA

Season Two Starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan will Launch on Netflix on January 16, 2015

(Beverly Hills, CA - November 13, 2014) -- Netflix, in association with Endemol, announced today that the six-episode second season of the critically acclaimed drama series, The Fall, will premiere exclusively on Netflix in the US and Latin America on January 16, 2015 at 12:01am PT. Season One is streaming now on Netflix.

"The Fall in its first series, was one of the best reviewed TV shows of 2013. It is incredibly suspenseful storytelling, topped with a great cast including Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan," said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. "We're thrilled to offer such a distinguished and entertaining show to our viewers around the world."

"The second series of this award-winning drama is sure to draw fans even further into the cat and mouse game between Stella Gibson and Paul Spector," said Cathy Payne, Chief Executive at Endemol Worldwide Distribution. "With an incredibly talented cast and production team, we are excited for Netflix viewers to see the next instalment".

BBC Two's highest rated drama series in ten years, The Fall, returns for Season 2. Following Season 1's gripping cliff-hanger, Gillian Anderson (Hannibal, The X Files), returns as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson who is on the trail of serial murderer Paul Spector played by Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey, Once Upon a Time). Set in Belfast, Northern Ireland 'The Fall Season 2' is written and directed by Emmy(R) Award winning Allan Cubitt (The Boys Are Back, Murphy's Law, Prime Suspect 2). Despite Gibson and Spector never actually meeting on screen, the chemistry between the two characters was electric and the escalating rivalry became the lynchpin of the first season and left the audience crying out for more.

This critically acclaimed series produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Gub Neal and Julian Stevens, picks up immediately from where series one left off, with Gibson in pursuit of Spector. A personal link from Spector's past opens up some clues for Gibson but provokes Spector in a way that threatens to jeopardise the whole investigation. Gibson is forced to take ever greater risks but the closer she comes to capturing him, the more Spector trespasses into her private world, delighting in taunting and provoking her. As the net gradually tightens around him he becomes psychologically ever more dangerous and destructive.

The Fall is a Fables Production in association with Artists Studios for the BBC with support from Northern Ireland Screen. It is executive produced by Allan Cubitt, Justin Thompson- Glover, Patrick Irwin and Gillian Anderson.
