Discovery Channel's "Mega Week" Is Bigger and Badder with Anacondas, Fast Cars and Naked Movie Stars

(New York, NY) - From Sunday, December 7 to Sunday, December 14, Discovery Channel is offering a week of jam-packed, super-sized programming with new specials and fan favorite series with MEGA WEEK. The week-long programming event kicks off Sunday, Dec. 7 with a special episode of NAKED & AWKWARD featuring NAKED & AFRAID: FRANCO AND ROGEN at 8PM ET/PT followed by the highly anticipated EATEN ALIVE.

MEGA WEEK gets Hollywood to bare it all when stars of the upcoming film, THE INTERVIEW, James Franco and Seth Rogen attempt to survive 21 days NAKED AND AFRAID. Dropped in a remote location with no food, no water... and NO CLOTHES, these Hollywood stars have 21 days to survive with nothing but one personal item each. From the dirty water the duo is forced to drink, to nightly spooning to keep warm, this is a NAKED AND AFRAID not to be missed. Fans will have a chance to get in on the action when they submit videos with the hashtag #showuswhatyougot, entering to win the epic opportunity to do it like our survivalists on Naked and Afraid for a 14-day challenge. It wouldn't be MEGA WEEK without the largest, most powerful snake in the world and the top predator in the Amazon. EATEN ALIVE, on Sunday, Dec. 7th at 9 PM ET/PT follows snake researcher and conservationist Paul Rosolie over a 60-day period on his search for a Giant Green Anaconda within the Amazonian jungle. Rosolie's goal was to persevere through the constriction and potential ingestion deep into the belly of the beast and he relied on a custom-built suit he designed for his protection. Constructed by Rosolie and his team of engineers working alongside herpetologists, the suit was built to ensure the snake's safety just as much as it was to protect Rosolie's life. After all, the highest measured force of an anaconda constriction has been documented at 90psi, which would be the equivalent of having a large school bus on one's chest. Since anacondas rely on their massive size and power to subdue their prey, Rosolie risked life and limb in the hopes of measuring the constriction force of a massive anaconda, to gain more insight on its hunting and feeding behaviors, and ultimately, to gain a greater understanding of the inner workings of these majestic creatures.

MEGA WEEK meets Motor Mondays on Dec. 8 when FAST N' LOUD brings back an iconic 80's favorite, Knight Rider's KITT car, at 9 PM ET/PT. Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman get the opportunity of a lifetime when an extravagant client asks them to build a replica of their favorite TV car, the KITT car, an artificially intelligent supercar in the body of a highly advanced, robotic Trans Am, and requests David Hasselhoff to hand deliver it for his upcoming 40th birthday bash in Las Vegas. It's a madcap dash as Richard and Aaron find themselves building the dream car of their youth, while trying to track down their teen hero in this two hour action-packed romp through the 80's.

Tuesday Dec. 9 at 8 PM ET/PT it's time to celebrate Christmas in Appalachia with MOONSHINERS. And whether it's a merry Moonshine recipe, pig pickin', duck hunting or holiday trimmings, the moonshiners are bringing their old time traditions to the yuletide. An all new episode of MOONSHINERS will follow at 9 PM ET/PT and more hijinks are sure to ensure at 10 PM ET/PT on the season finale of BILLY BOB: GAGS TO RICHES, when the pressure mounts as Jonah's quest for the next million-dollar gag item nears its end. Put your skills to the test for an ultimate, MEGA WEEK action-packed episode of DUDE YOU'RE SCREWED on Wednesday Dec. 10 at 9 PM ET/PT. Another survivalist is captured and taken to Nicaragua, one of the world's harshest environments, giving him 100 hours to make it back to civilization. And while this trek home is happening, all the other guys will be monitoring their target's progress (and vital signs) from a command center nearby.

And it doesn't get more mega for MEGA WEEK than the legendary Shaquille O'Neal! American Chopper returns to Discovery Channel on Thursday Dec. 11 at 9 PM ET/PT with 7'1" basketball legend Shaq contracting the OCC team to build their largest bike to date, an enormous Superman themed chopper.

GOLD RUSH on Friday Dec. 11 finds crew leader Parker Schnabel bringing home the biggest gold clean up in Gold Rush history at 9 PM ET/PT. And Sunday's MEGA episode of ALASKA THE LAST FRONTIER on Dec. 13 finds the Kilchers facing their biggest challenges yet. Otto, Jane & Shane help a fellow homesteader transport a cabin to the distant and uninhabited Perl Island but things take a sinister turn when they discover a predator on the loose.
