"STANDUP NBC" WINNER NICK GUERRA RECEIVES ONE-YEAR HOLDING DEAL WITH NBCUNIVERSAL

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 22, 2015 - Comedian Nick Guerra took home top honors at NBCUniversal's 11th annual "StandUp NBC" comedy showcase held at the Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by alumni actor/comedian Ron Funches (NBC's "Undateable") and capped a talent search that spanned Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco and New York in an effort to find the funniest comics of diverse backgrounds in the country.

With the win, Guerra was signed to a one-year talent holding deal with NBCUniversal.

"There are two things every comedian needs for his career to stay alive - recognition of talent and car repair money," said Guerra. "I'd like to thank NBC for continuing to show me support and for the new transmission."

"There were so many talented standups in NBCUniversal's "StandUp NBC" Showcase, and we are excited to have a talent hold deal with the hilarious Nick Guerra," said Grace Wu, Executive Vice President, Casting, NBC Entertainment.

"It gives us pride to be recognized in the industry as a genuine launching pad to help propel comics to new heights in their careers," said Karen Horne, Vice President, Programming Talent Development & Inclusion, NBC Universal. "Whether a comedian wants to pursue acting, writing or become a headliner, "StandUp NBC" provides the exposure needed to fulfill that pursuit."

Selected finalists also earned the honor of joining the touring company of the "StandUp NBC College Tour." The 2014 finalists - in addition to Guerra - included Aisha Alfa, Darcy Michael, John Nguyen, Langston Kerman, Katrina Braxton, Lavar Walker and Ricarlo Flanagan. In partnership with the National Association for Campus Activities (N.A.C.A.), the tour is expected to perform at more than 50 college campuses nationwide. Additionally, select finalists will be featured in February at the N.A.C.A national convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Guerra was an audience favorite on the eighth season of NBC's "Last Comic Standing." He was a writer, actor and assistant director on the second season of Mun2's "Pitbull's La Esquina" and also performed on Comedy Central's "Gabriel Iglesias Stand Up Revolution and Nuvo TV's "Stand Up & Deliver" and the "Stand Up & Deliver Cabo Relief Special." Guerra is repped by Levity Entertainment Group.
