Production Begins Today In Montreal; Part of Hallmark Channel's COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS, The #1 Most Treasured Holiday Destination by Television Viewers

Hallmark Channel announces Dermot Mulroney has been added to the cast in a highly anticipated role in "Northpole: Open For Christmas," a Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere Holiday 2015. Mulroney co-stars alongside Lori Loughlin ("When Calls The Heart," "Garage Sale Mystery," "Full House") and Bailee Madison ("Good Witch," "Northpole") in this mesmerizing holiday adventure. Mulroney stars as Ian, a small town handyman who comes to the aid of Mackenzie, played by Loughlin, to help restore a cherished local inn she inherited, but wants to sell. Unbeknownst to Ian and Mackenzie, Santa sends his trusted elf Clementine (Madison) on a special mission to help Mackenzie rebuild and rediscover the magic of the holidays.

Since being discovered at Northwestern University by a Hollywood talent agent 28 years ago, Dermot Mulroney has been seen in over 65 films including "My Best Friend's Wedding," "The Family Stone," "The Grey," "About Schmidt," "Young Guns" and "The Wedding Date." He most recently appeared in theaters alongside Julia Roberts in John Wells' adaptation of Tracy Letts' award winning "August: Osage County" and is currently starring, for the first time as a series regular, in "Crisis" for NBC. Not only is Mulroney a gifted actor, but he also is a classically trained cellist who has been playing since he was seven-years-old. He has recorded with scoring orchestras for many films with Academy Award winning composers such as James Newton Howard and Michael Giacchino.
