Bill Lawrence, Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches and Rick Glassman Embark on Second Annual Multi-City Stand-Up Comedy Promo Tour, Launching March 15 in Austin at SXSW

BURBANK, Calif. (March 5, 2015) - Showcasing their comedic chemistry, the cast and creators of the hit comedy series "Undateable" are embarking on another multi-city, cross-country comedy tour, launching at the famous SXSW festival on Sunday, March 15, along with a panel on Tuesday, March 17. The second season of "Undateable" premieres Tuesday, March 17, at 9/8c on NBC.

Following last year's successful grassroots comedy tour campaign, co-creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence ("Scrubs," "Spin City," "Cougar Town," "Clone High," "Ground Floor") will lead the comedy tour with series stars Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches and Rick Glassman - all stand-up comedians.

Lawrence, who is "willingly leaving his family" to travel on the tour, said, "Even if this weren't attached to our TV show, it would still be one of the best comedy shows you could see this year."

It all kicks off in Austin, Texas, during the famous SXSW festival on Sunday, March 15, at 10 p.m., as the stand-ups unleash a hilarious evening of comedy at Esther's Follies in Austin. Each actor will perform a stand-up set with Lawrence serving as host, joined by fellow "Undateable" series stars Bianca Kajlich, David Fynn and new cast member Bridgit Mendler. The comedic cast has each built up their fanbase from the first season of "Undateable," with performances that continue to treat audiences to the humor viewers can expect from the series.

The stand-up comics (D'Elia, Morin, Funches and Glassman) will also participate in a SXSW panel on Tuesday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center in Room 18ABCD. The group will discuss being stand-up comedians and how that complements and informs their performances in front of a live-studio audience each week for "Undateable." As Lawrence says, "Not only are these comics some of the best stand-ups currently working in the country, people will be able to see that they're best friends in real life. You can see that on the show, too."

About "Undateable"

From Bill Lawrence ("Scrubs," "Spin City," "Cougar Town," "Clone High") and Adam Sztykiel ("Due Date," "Made of Honor"), "Undateable" is a comedy series about a group of friends who are thisclose to finding a relationship - they just need a little help.

Whether it's due to a lack of style, the wrong job or even just a bad haircut, everyone goes through a time in their lives when they're undateable. Most of us eventually grow out of it, but some people need a little more help than others. Enter Danny Burton (Chris D'Elia, "Whitney"). Confident, attractive and impervious to outside opinions, Danny - who may be in a state of arrested development himself - decides to help out his new roommate, Justin Kearney (comedian Brent Morin), the owner of an unsuccessful bar and a chronic overthinker, and Justin's group of oddball friends - Shelly (comedian Ron Funches), Burski (comedian Rick Glassman) and Brett (David Fynn, "Game of Thrones"). Danny introduces the gang to his divorced older sister, Leslie (Bianca Kajlich, "Rules of Engagement"), who immediately bonds with this group of guys, as she feels a little stuck in her own life as well. Candace (Bridgit Mendler, "Good Luck Charlie") is the new bartender at Justin's bar, and new to the group. The gang spends most of their time at the bar, helping solve each other's respective problems over beers, and while they love to give each other a hard time, they always have each other's back. Executive produced by Lawrence, Sztykiel and Jeff Ingold ("Ground Floor," "Surviving Jack"), "Undateable" is inspired by the book "Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won't Be Dating or Having Sex," by Ellen Rakieten & Anne Coyle.
