INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY TEAMS WITH ICONIC FILM DIRECTOR JOEL SCHUMACHER GREENLIGHTING NEW SERIES "DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS"

True-Crime Series Featuring Hotel Murder Mysteries Premieres 4Q 2015

(Silver Spring, MD) -- Welcome to the real-life Bates Motel where guests check in... but, don't always check out. Stories straight out of horror films that gave you nightmares are now coming to life with Investigation Discovery's new true-crime series, DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS, featuring real life chilling cases of hotel murders. A throwback to cult classics like "The Shining" and "Psycho," DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS, is helmed by award-winning renowned director, Joel Schumacher, who serves as executive producer on the series. Schumacher will lend his expertise to deliver a highly stylized cinematic look and feel to the series which is slated to premiere 4Q 2015.

"It's an honor to welcome distinguished Hollywood legend, and self-proclaimed ID Addict, Joel Schumacher to the Investigation Discovery family," said Henry Schleiff, Group President, Discovery Networks. "DO NOT DISTURB explores the dark aspects of the hotel experience we've all encountered - vulnerability, seclusion, and anonymity - so, we can't wait to see what Joel's creative genius adds to this psychological edge-of-your-seat thriller."

"I love true crime and I'm fascinated with the criminal mind (because I have one), which is why I love ID," said Joel Schumacher. "I thought, wouldn't it be fun to work on a show for them and we hit on this idea of murders in hotel rooms - so expect violence, sex, and all the scandal and twists ID fans want to see."

Viewers who check in to DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS will experience some of the most twisted and horrifying murder cases to have ever taken place in unassuming hotels and inns, across America. Through high quality cinematic recreations, archival footage and shocking revelations uncovered in exclusive, first-person interviews with family, friends, authorities and hotel staff, the series is a balance between true crime and a movielike thriller.

DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS is produced for Investigation Discovery by Matador Content with Jay Peterson, Joel Schumacher and Mark Marabella serve as executive producers. For Investigation Discovery, Pamela Deutsch is senior executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President.
