IFC DEVELOPING NEW SCRIPTED COMEDY SERIES "START MAKING SENSE" (WORKING TITLE)

Created and Written by Comedian Jake Fogelnest

Produced by Legendary Television and Ben Stiller's Red Hour

NEW YORK, NY - March 26, 2015 - IFC is developing the comedy Start Making Sense (working title) ordering multiple scripts of the series from creator and writer Jake Fogelnest (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, Billy on the Street, Difficult People), produced by Legendary Television and executive produced by Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld, and Mike Rosenstein through Red Hour. The show is in contention for the comedy network's 2016 line-up.

"Jake is an incredible storyteller who has created a cast of characters who explore the comedic side of the modern generational divide," said Christine Lubrano, senior vice president of original programming. "We look forward to these scripts taking many slightly off turns into the depths of family dysfunction."

Start Making Sense (wt) follows Jack desperately clinging to his fading relevancy as a best-selling author and his son, Shane, basking in popularity by expressing his teenage angst in 140 characters or less. As these generational voices collide they must navigate new waters of texts, trust and rock and roll.

"I am thrilled to be working with IFC, Red Hour and Legendary on this project. I just hope they never figure out they've put a complete dumdum in charge of writing what has been sold to them as a smart comedy. Seriously, have you seen what I put on Twitter?" said Fogelnest.
