KNOXVILLE (ABC/ABCS; W: Johnny Knoxville & Victor Fresco; D: Michael Fresco) - Dave Koechner has signed onto the comedy pilot, which follows the exploits of 12-year-old Johnny navigating the "outlaw culture" of his family and small hometown of Knoxville, TN. He's set as Johnny's big personality dad, Ray, who owns the local tire store. Julie Ann Emery also stars as mom Genevieve with Brittany Beery as his 16-year-old sister Audrey and Brad Carter as Jukebox. (Deadline.com)
TAKE IT FROM US (NBC/Sony; W: Barry Schwartz & Greg Malins; D: Gail Mancuso) - Brenda Song ("Dads") is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about a couple that tells their son the lessons they learned growing up in the '90s in hopes he and his fiancée can avoid making the same mistakes. She'll play Caitlin, "who works in a bookstore/coffee bar. She grew up all over the world because her parents were humanitarian aid workers - which is a fancy way to say she grew up mostly in the jungle. She is still trying to adjust to life in civilization." Andy Ridings, Chris Douglass, Japheth Gordon, Joey Pollari and Stacey Farber also star. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MUPPETS PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Bill Prady ("The Big Bang Theory") and Bob Kushell ("Anger Management") are set to team for a new small screen take on the Muppets, reportedly "set behind the scenes of a late-night talk show, with most signature Muppets, led by Kermit the Frog, on tap." The project has a pilot presentation order with The Muppet Studios and ABC Studios co-producing. Prady previously spearheaded another potential revival in 2007. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED O'SHANNON & WARREN PROJECT (CBS/CBSP; W: Dan O'Shannon & Peter Warren; D: Pamela Fryman) - Tracy Spiridakos ("Revolution") has booked the female lead on the comedy pilot, about a group of friends and family at three different times in their lives. She'll play Holly, "Andrew's (Adam Brody) crush when they were 12 years old. There's an undeniable spark when they meet again at 25, and when they reconnect at 40, the spark's still there." Kelly O'Sullivan and Tyler Labine also star. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Brian White will recur on "Mistresses" as "the headmaster at the school attended by April's (Rochelle Aytes) daughter Lucy" (TVLine.com); and Disney Channel has quietly renewed "Liv and Maddie" for a third season (Variety.com).
