LONG REIGNING KING OF DAYTIME TELEVISION JERRY SPRINGER RETURNS FOR NEW SEASON OF INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S "TABLOID" PREMIERING JUNE 6

(Silver Spring, Md.) - (Silver Spring, MD) - Investigation Discovery invites viewers to indulge in a new season of the guilty pleasure series, TABLOID, premiering Saturday, June 6 at 10/9c. For those gossip fans that secretly scan the supermarket magazines in the checkout line, TABLOID quenches their thirst for over-the-top stories. Guaranteed to satisfy inquiring minds, the one-hour weekly show, hosted by the Emmy Award-winning king of tabloid television, Jerry Springer, peels back the curtain to probe the most bizarre larger-than-life stories you can't possibly imagine.

"This show is the perfect marriage of the incomparable king of daytime TV with the most outrageous characters making tabloid headlines in the world of law and disorder said Henry Schleiff, Group President, Discovery Communications. "We are, indeed, delighted to have Jerry return to lead our viewers through these tawdry tales of the notorious and nefarious."

"TABLOID combines all the ingredients for a delicious guilty pleasure - notoriety, crime, revenge, and deception - what more could you want?!" - said Jerry Springer

No stranger to astonishing anecdotes, Springer brings nearly 25 years of experience working with outrageous characters. Baring all of the twists and turns, and macabre motivations behind eye-catching criminal accounts, TABLOID unearths the most mind-blowing headlines of your favorite checkout line magazines exposing the biggest stories of the day. Each episode features two stories interlaced with expert commentary from local authorities, as well as first-person accounts from friends and family of the victims.

The line-up of the first four episodes of TABLOID is as follows:

LAW AND DISORDER Premieres Saturday, June 6 at 10/9c Beware of settling scores when these cautionary tales of a police officer taking the law into his own hands against a former girlfriend ultimately leads to a shocking standoff; and from Utah, an eccentric rancher with a lion tests his employees' loyalties, leading to a horrific crime scene and an interstate manhunt.

LOVE YOU TO DEATHPremieres Saturday, June 13 at 10/9c These are astonishing tales of love so intense, that their headlines made a splash in the tabloids. First here's a love triangle of epic proportions -- Diane Schaefer would follow Dr. Brennan to the ends of the earth, if not for his wife. Over time, Diane's passion gets so intense that the Brennans take their case to the authorities. Next, viewers meet a family man who has a sinister take on his vows of "till death do us part."

FAME AND MISFORTUNE Premieres Saturday, June 20 at 10/9c Celebrity stories about the drawbacks of fame are a dime a dozen, but here are two standouts for making jaw-dropping headlines: Spade Cooley, the famous country western fiddler and self-anointed King of Western Swing back in the 40s, lost everything the day his wife was brutally murdered. Later, twin mini-wrestler international stars from the popular Luche Libre wrestling circuit, the Jiménez brothers, Alberto and Alejandro, died in their prime, leaving a mystery as to why they ended up in a hotel room with complete strangers.

BAD BOYS Premieres Saturday, June 27 at 10/9c Revealing the dangers of walking on the wild side, new attorney Mary Evan takes her first major case to save Tim Kirk from the electric chair but falls hard for her bad boy client --and media frenzy ensues when she sets a torrid escape plan in motion. Then, a hard-partying college student reconnects with an old flame and their chance meeting leads to a vicious, drug-addled murder and a shocking cover up.
