BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS (WGN America/CTS; W: Chad Feehan; D: Joe Carnahan) - Writer Chad Feehan and director Joe Carnahan's drama, set in the world of competitive bull riding, has found a new home at WGN America. The project, from CBS Television Studios-based Timberman-Beverly Productions, was previously set up at A&E in June of 2013. (Deadline.com)
FOBBIT (Showtime, New!) - David Abrams's book - about "a Press Affairs office in Iraq during the war" - is being developed as a single-camera comedy at the pay channel. Writer Scott Buck and director Mark Forster are spearheading the project, which is set up at the CBS Television Studios-based Timberman-Beverly Productions. The latter's Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly then will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - HBO reportedly has given a series commitment to the comedy pilot "Brothers in Atlanta," about "struggling entertainers and best friends Langston (Diallo Riddle) and Moose (Bashir Salahuddin) trying to navigate relationships and life in the black Mecca of Atlanta" (Deadline.com); IM Global Television is spearheading potential TV dramas based on Kurt Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle" and Marion Zimmer Bradley's "Darkover," among other properties (Deadline.com); "Elementary" executive producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly have inked a new multi-year overall deal with producer CBS Television Studios (Deadline.com); Matt Cedeño has joined the cast of "Z Nation" as Vasquez, "a mysterious, rugged bounty hunter with questionable motives who joins the team of zombie-fighting heroes" (Deadline.com);
Kenneth Choi has been tapped to play Judge Lance Ito in FX's "American Crime Story," while Jordana Brewster is set as Denise Brown (Deadline.com, TVLine.com); Jon Cryer and his wife Lisa Joyner have launched Discount Sushi Productions at Warner Bros. Television, where they'll develop series projects as part of a two-year overall deal (THR.com); Josh Randall is bound for Cinemax's "Quarry" as Detective Tommy Olsen (THR.com); Ed Weeks will drop by "Royal Pains" as "an intense Hollywood method actor who has found the perfect person to help him prepare for his next role: Hank (Mark Feuerstein)" (EW.com); and Elizabeth Rodriguez is bound for "Fear the Walking Dead" in a mysterious role (EW.com).
