TV ONE'S "HELLOBEAUTIFUL INTERLUDES LIVE: JILL SCOTT" PREMIERES FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 10 P.M. ET

NEW YORK, N.Y. - AUGUST 12, 2015 - TV One's highly anticipated HelloBeautiful Interludes Live: Jill Scott featuring Grammy(R)-Winning R&B Artist Jill Scott premieres Friday, August 21 at 10 p.m. ET. The one-hour special treats viewers to an interview and an exciting performance featuring selections from her latest album WOMAN taped at the iconic Fillmore Theatre, just outside Washington, D.C.

"Jill Scott is one of our great storytellers," says Smokey Fontaine, host & executive producer. "She brought an emotional honesty to our conversation that I hope will not only bring viewers closer to her creative process, but also give testimony to the fearlessness it takes to be an artist whose work is dedicated to truth-telling at all costs. WOMAN may be her best yet."

HelloBeautiful Interludes Live: Jill Scott features a live performance of her latest hit singles "Closure" and "Fools Gold" along with fan favorites "Golden," "Long Walk" and "Way (Is It The Way)." Along with amazing musical performances, the special includes an intimate conversation, revealing the innermost "interludes" of Scott's life and career, faith and family, the highs and lows of the music business, and more.

On her writing process: "I kind of have to wait for them, so I may end up spending a day under a tree, a day in the studio or in the pool. I'm listening for the words, listen for the melody and I have to wait. I love how artists put out album after album; I think that is so, fantastic. I'm impressed. I don't have that ability, I have to wait. And sometimes that's really frustrating"

On motherhood: "I remember having a moment where I was like 'can I do this?' (Jet) said some things that are private between he and I. He put me back together. So I wrote a song called "Put Me Back Together"; I probably won't make it through that song live. I probably won't but maybe the audience will sing it."

WOMAN is Scott's first album since 2011 and launches 15-years after the release of her chart-topping, critically acclaimed debut album "Who Is Jill Scott?" WOMAN is described by Scott as a blend of "classic Philly soul, meets country rhythm, served with captivating storytelling."

HelloBeautiful Interludes Live: Jill Scott is the latest example of the cross-platform collaboration between TV One and Interactive One that began when the Interludes series - originally only available online - was brought to the TV network in September 2013 with HelloBeautiful Interludes Live: John Legend. Other installments of the series have featured Ne-Yo, Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton & Babyface, Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz, KEM and Ledisi.

HelloBeautiful Interludes Live: Jill Scott is hosted and Executive Produced by Smokey D. Fontaine for Interactive One. Leigh Davenport serves as Editorial Director for HelloBeautiful.com. For TV One, Jubba Seyyid is Executive-In-Charge of production and D'Angela Proctor is the network's Head of Original Programming and Production.
