"Being named America's Favorite Dancer is a dream come true," said Diaz. "Knowing that so many people have appreciated my effort and enjoyed my work is the ultimate compliment, leaving me feeling very accomplished and proud of the work we all have done on this show."
"This has been one of the most exciting weeks of my life, ever," added Emmy Award-winning Stage Team coach Travis Wall. "The dancer I believed in so much won this for Team Stage and herself. She is the perfect representation for SYTYCD - on and off the stage. I didn't know how it was going to end up, but I'm so happy with the results. I'm so proud of her!"
Fellow finalists Hailee Payne, Virgil Gadson and Jana "Jaja" Vankova were eliminated as host Cat Deeley revealed the voting results.
In addition to naming America's Favorite Dancer, the Season 12 finale of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE featured a performance by Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Travis Wall, as well as performances by this season's Top 20 dancers - including a special performance by the Top 20 that was choreographed by Christopher Scott and a performance by the Top 10 with 10 All-Stars, choreographed by Nick Florez and RJ Durell.
